Family vacation + slippery dock = damaged foot, severed tendon, and six weeks worth of crutches.

Side effect: I can no longer work.

What a wonderful way to finish my summer. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

arrr... that's bad.

I tend to get sick during my vacations, but that's some extremely bad luck. Well, do what you can with your limited movement abilities, I guess.

Hope you feel better!

The phrase "severed tendon" makes me squirm a little. D:

I hope you feel better soon. ;_;

Holy shit. Severed tendon? You mean that thick one on the bottom of your foot? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Yea, that'll have some permanent effect on you. Sorry to hear that. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif Uncle bets it bled like hell, heh.

Hopefully you'll recover nicely though. :B

What is with family vacations and all the curses that just 'happen' to occur during them? For me, I have thrown up more times while on vacation than at home. I was on 'vacation' when I sprained my ankle. And other people I know go through similar stuff during vacation with family. FVS maybe? Family Vacation Syndrome?

All foolishness aside, yes, I hope that heals up well. And hey, if you have a cast, ask to keep it to whack the person who owned the slippery dock.

Only thing that really sucked when I went on vacation is that there was this hotel doing this thing for 'children', I wasn't wearing any slippers and walking on really hot pavement (blistered my feet badly), went to water park the next day couldn't go because it began to bleed. Didn't hurt, but my parents were worried.

The owner of the cabin/dock is our whole Kern side of the family: Plus side to the whole ordeal, by the time I got back they fixed the dock. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

So what are you going to do for the rest of the summer now that you are effectivly incapacitated?

I have no idea.
Right now, I have a job interview tomorrow that I already informed them about my gimp status - they'd said that would be AOK.

Other then that, I dunno. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Getting a job would be good I guess, so that you aren't cooped up at home. What sort of job are you applying for? Has to be something that you don't have to be on your feet all day (which is probably good anyways, in my opinion..)

Well, the interview itself is for when I'm off at college (in six weeks), but until then I am "working at the DQ" except working on stuff on my laptop... finishing up the employee handbook and computer software, actually.

My dad said I'm now working at the D.Q. I.T. department, heh. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

It still sucks though.

Wait... what year are you in college? Having to gimp around with crutches would kind of suck for freshman orientation (however would probably be a good way to make friends!)

Well, I'm ironically 1 credit away from being a Junior. >_> Dammit, why didn't my college classes go for this summer?

Anyway, the date I figured it out is that I get off of my crutches 2 days before classes start and two days after I move in. So, no real "crutches" advantage - though I do still plan on moving in by myself.

(Since it is two days, I don't think it would hurt it too much to step on it... I'd still be wearing a brace and everything.)

Eh, thats Sept. 2, long ways away.
