Handguns

I read that items like Handgun: Guld and Ruby Bullet can ONLY be used by rangers even though they are handguns. Same thing with the Heaven Punisher, if my hunter used three more God/Arms he would have enough ATA, but would he be able to use it?

No. You could try all you want, but some handguns are just for Rangers only.

It's done for the same reason why rangers can't use a lavis (even though it's a saber-type). They want the difficult rares to be class specific.
If you want to use the 'best' ranger weapons (by best I mean rarest, in most cases, or highest, stat-wise) you gotta be a ra.
It's just the way it is.

Well, best would be pretty much all the Episode 4 rares.

But what about strength/rarity ratio? The Episode 4 drops are insane, so while thewy may be the best stat wise, an easier to find and still good alternative would have to be considered aswell.

I agree to a point, but Kef did a good comparison looking at Yunchang versus s-rank, soul banish, red and other partisans. Then you have others that fall slightly below.

Same with comparing some of the new mechs to the older ones - Kef still rates the Guld-Millas ahead in most situations.

As for rarity, tell me about it. I hate hunting stuff in ep 4. It is a very frustrating gaming experience to tell the truth. After hours and hours and hours of pain and suffering, I've come out of there with one Heavenly Arms and 10 pds.

With Ult release, I picked up three Red Partisans and a Yamato with good hit in the first few hours + about 300 team pts of Flowen's Swords - http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif. Course, then I lost the first Partisan and the Yamato to a one-hour "rollback" aghhhhh.

ok so say they do do it to make you mad...i dont see what would make anybody mad about a hunter not being able to equip HP...??? im still lost i hope you know that the HP's special is not really affected by your atp...but your mst??? unless your really going to use HP to use it against a single person? last time i knew people liked HP for Dark Rain (special)

If Hunters could wear handguns like Heaven Striker (500+ ATP, rifle range, Berserk) and mechguns like Yasminkov 9000M (rifle range) and Guld Milla, that would kind of beat the purpose of rangers, wouldn't it? x_x
... Kind of in the same way as how Excalibur, Daylight Scar, and Vivienne beat the purpose of Hunters. <_<

Some handguns are only equipable for rangers regardless of their ata. If your looking for a good handgun for a hunter get a red hangun as once fully grinded its more powerful than a heaven punisher and its less ata to use, its also not that hard to obtain.

HP's special deals light damage, so it doesn't matter what your atp or mst is. And this is why it's never really been a very useful weapon to use (besides to look neat perhaps)--it's damage is minimal.

And you're right about the lavis; I doubt many would complain about rangers not being able to use it. But that wasn't the point..I was only using it as an example cause it's a saber type, and it's rare (maybe not so much from pouilly slimes, but the other IDs' rates kinda suck). Just like Heaven Punisher is a handgun type that is also rare.
I could've used ancient saber instead (since rangers can't use that either).

And I don't know the epIV drops well enough to start including them yet, so...

Don't forget the weapons like panthers claw and stag cutlery tha only certian genders can use. every classs has a "ultimate" weapon that only their class can use, even if all classes can use the common variety.

i don't feel bad that RA/HU/FO only weapons are that...hehe, i think that all mech should have been RA only....but in don't mind too much..heh, sometimes mechs are nice for speeding on a HU

OMG heh, actualy a handgun that can match some nicer weapons....
