Locked topics

I just have a question about locked topics, and that is, when a topic is locked, is it eventually erased? or does it just sit there?

or someone explain to me how that works >>;;

Most just sit there. Some, with no purpose to them except the reason they were locked are deleted. It really is up to the decision of the mod who locked it in the first place.
