That if I get online for PSO 1&2 Plus, my characters data will get erased. Is it true?

No, that was for the Japanese version of the game.

Yet playing your character online does give you the common threat of Data Corruption, power going out while saving... being FSOD'd during save... etc..., but you can also get Data Corruption offline just by power off during saving, but meh, it's a risk many are willing to take.

I tried to get online play but it said that the online support could be down... but I dbout it. Then I read somewhere that the game was updated with 1&2 plus... but how could that affect it? And if i am to get that game for sum odd reason will I be able to play with the same characters that i already have for the original?

ur actual character will be still usable, but i think all it items and even the lvl will all become erased.. i think.. XD

incorrect, as getintothegame already stated, using PSO+ only affects characters created with the JP version of PSO.
