problem 1)

when ever I try and play some anime on my comp ( not all just certain ones ) I get this error and there will be no audio

""FF" (this is the WaveFormat or FourCC identifier of the codec). "

D:

I have searched for this codec thing or whatever and I cannot find it anywhere

Problem 2)

my wmp refuses to play .wmv .wma .mp3 files and probably some others as well

before the vid or song even loads it says that wmp encountered an error and shuts down D:

and instead of one of the windows where it'll say whats wrong I'll get one of those send an error report windows

Problem 1:

Finally, i found the solution to my problem of

"The codec you are missing is not available for download from this site. You might be able to find it on another site by searching the Web for "1" (this is the WaveFormat or FourCC identifier of the codec)."

It is a chinese codec pack after installing it, everything works like magic. Both video and sound are working well.

That's what i got when i use the render option of GSpot (guess that's what "1" stands for)

Audio (S) --> Ogg Splitter --> Vorbis Decoder --> Morgan Stream Switcher --> (R)

The link: http://www.ogg.cn/software/view-software-205.html

Scroll down you will see the download option. File size 12.9mb

Good luck. =D

Have no idea about problem 2. Have you tried re-installing WMP?

Or just given up, ditched WMP, and use Media Player Classic for movies, and Winamp for MP3s?
