Wow, another Uriko vs University rant. I'm just gonna copy/paste this from my clan boards....
As many of you know, I have been doing University re-sit work, for my Computer Games Design course. This work is due to be handed in on the 26th of this month.
The problem being that I can't get motivated to finish it. After looking back over this first year, Ive realised that this course isn't all it's cracked up to be. Lecturers never turned up, the material we were given was beyond poor, we even got told that hardly any of us would make it in the industry, being such a specialist area.
I have a week to hand in a Flash MX presentation on a Multimedia centre, with user-friendly interface, sound, animations, the lot. The tutor who took us for the Flash workshops had NEVER ONCE USED THE PROGRAM.
Because of this, I'm highly considering not handing back in, and giving up the course. If I do this, I'll be off to get a full-time job, which I know may not be an ideal place. However, at the minute, I'm really broke, and could really, really use the extra cash.
I still have a few qualifications (9 C+ GCSE's, and a college diploma in 3d Design), but this course hasn't seemed right for me.... I thought I'd enjoy it, but all the course has been is a huge joke =
Anyone got any help/thoughts on what I've just said?
For anyone that's interested, the university is University of Teesside. Bleh.
