I need to know what is the default time zone that Time is converted to beat in programs such as BeatX. I.E what is the conversion for offline time. Obviously my gamecube doesn't know if I'm in California or Africa

Beat time is universal.

Just make sure your GC internal clock is correct. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

http://www.timeanddate.com/time/internettime.html

Beat Unit Conversion Unit Beat Conversion
1 .beat = 0.001 day 1 day = 1000 .beats
1 .beat = 0.024 hours 1 hour = 41.666 .beats
1 .beat = 1.44 minutes 1 minute = 0.6944 .beats
1 .beat = 86.4 seconds 1 second = 0.01157 .beats

I just tested time zones in BeatX and my gamecube and found this:

I guess sonic team assumed that anyone and everyone playing PSO would be in japan... so they made the gamecube clock simulate japanese timezone and converts it to beat. So for offline beat time (for the purpose of excavation or item hunting based on .beat) the Japanese timezone is used.

At the time I posted this it's 246 beats, but my pso copy says 621 (my gamecube is set correctly for CST).

I'm in the UK and when I was playing PSOBB I noticed that the beat time was exactly 000 at midnight here. So if Delfi's was at 000 when it was midnight in Switzerland then it isn't exactly universal now but more connected to the time in your own time zone.

Of course thats my own opinion of it all.

No Rydius, its not mine i am in england lol it was according to the website i read it on which explains about beat time. I dont know if swiss biel time and greenwich mean time are ever the same at any time during the year but i guess sometimes they are as thats the only way it could be at 000 at midnight uk time.

Switzerland is about an hour or more in front of the UK Delfi. Thats how I worked it out.

Of course I accept that I may be right, I may be wrong. Its just one of those things.

as mentioned above. offline, PSO takes the systemclock and calculates beattime according to the japanese timezone.
funny if you think about it since PSO is supposed to be an international release.

online however, it takes the actual beattime from the login-servers.
