Well, I finally saw it and though it wasn't scary I liked it but I heard somewhere that there is an all Jappanese movie that the grudge is based on and that its SUPER SCARY. Can anyone help me out on the name of this movie.

(Me and my friend tried looking around for it at school but stupid websense kept blocking us from certain websites)

God I hated the Grudge.....

It made me refuse to see PG-13 rated horror movies.

Thanks.

I researched a bit of it and to my understanding, The Grudge is nothing more than an american remake of Ju-On containing parts of Ju-On and Ju-On.

When I watched the Grudge I got the story and what happened but I didn't like how certain things weren't really "shown" or "emphasized".

Example, when the 1st house keeper dies.(Yoko) They should've showed more of her death.(I'm not a sick person I just think it would've made the film bette)

Then, they should've showed more footage of the deaths of the girl mother and son.

And they should've ended it better. I'm not saying it should be peaceful and happy I'm just saying a bit more edgy. She wakes up in the hospital and the grudge lady is standing next to her and it ends.(Boring!)

Also for some reason, I think that there was more to the scene where peter enters the house and discovers everyone is dead.

Once I find someone I know with a blockbuster card I'm gonna go look for Ju-On.

Ditto I convinced 5 others to not watch The Ring 2, based on complaining alone!; but hey if you enjoy it, good for you Infinity.

They released The Grudge on DVD four times(!) to my knowledge, so Ju-On should be released at least twice by now! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Horror movies re-made with American actors, based on Japanese B-movie films are just bad ideas all around. Stop it already Hollywood! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

b movies?
>_>

well, take in mind, movies like ... ringu, ju-on, uzumaki and the like are made for teen couples to watch together (esp for the girl to clinge in the scary scenes). esp their successors..

ju-on tho is pretty good as a suspense horror movie - my personal favourite.

tho, if you want to watch a real horrormovie, try... audition.

I would reccomend "Un Chien Andalou" if you really want to be messed up for the rest of your life.

*shudder*

Anyway, the thing that bugged me most about The Grudge was how the ghost looked cute, more or less. At least Samara wasn't cute. She was a skinny swamp hag who needed a hair cut and a hug. The Grudge ghost was like a really animeized mime. Although I will admit the bleeding eyes were a little creepy at the end.
