I think those partner machines will be like mags in a way, in the vid it shows "your room" and a little robot, evolving as it levels up! So they may still be like mags, they just make items instead of raise stats!

I've no idea what the face's appearing in the corner of the screen, in the lobbies, actually mean.

Ok, now that that's out of the way, time to wonder about things. (One of my favorite things to do!)

-3 positions for your pointy newman ears!

-Where is the spaceballs dogman-erizer option?

-It looks like the android face has 2 types of components, sort of a 'face' bit and then a helmet like overlay. Apparently though, they come in unusual skin colorations. But, the NPC ones are regular-ish. (well renvolt is grayish brown but...) Do android skin colors come with their paint varients or is it an independant choice?

-Did anyone see that righteous green guy in the lobby near the end? I want wing-things too!

-It looks like you can pick 2 body styles for male type androids. HUc-ish slimmer and RAc-ish chunky-er with big feet. Where are the female androids in this video?

-Total, total satisfaction with human face arrangement ability. It looks like you can get anyone you want. 16 hairs is decent too...I NEED a mask option. Were masks a big part of anyone's char needs?

-Did the mag/robotguy look like a Digimon to you after it evolved? (blue uhh ver. of the red dinosaur)

-What is up with the doll tiny people or something? He had some mini-RAcaseal thing in his room at one point, was that a holo? Also, a small thing spoke in the lobby/town of water-planet near the end (green bubble, to the right)

-"Kattoin Chatto" Does this sound like "Cartoon Chat" to anyone? I know their word for it is supposed to be 'anime' or whatever but.

-Hopefully, it's disable-able too, or you can change the expressions. I have stood close as people have had many a...not happy experience, and ms. cheery there in the box would not help this.

-VOICE type. What is this? Filter for acutal voice chat enable confirmed? Or, stock voices to spam like those card noisy noises. If they are spammy stocks, PLEASE get someone w/o an accent which can be made to sound goofy. "Great+female" on Ep3...

-Beast people hairy ears. These look kind of 'glued on' although the ear hair seems to change with head hair color.

-All beast people can transform. What happens when mini-beast people transform? Wouldn't that look funny?

-I SO SO hope you can collect up junk and put it in your room, then have your friends over to hang out in it. Can you have multiple partnerbots? I had a hefty mag collection, and enjoyed it a lot. Imagine letting out all mini-robo things in your room.

With all this stuff, it may take you the first DAY just to figure out your chars! (I know it will me) This is so exciting, and we havn't even seen much online battling/teamups special attacks/weps yet! It just keeps getting cooler!
P.S. Is anyone doing screencaps/stills of the different android faces or other points of interest?

We'll it's still not coming out for a while. I'd be surprised if it had round shadows when it's released. Shadows probably weren't high on ST priority list. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Looks like char customization is no longer a limited like PSO - that's a huge plus.
The online segment appears to have improved quite a bit even in development phase. Now how would battle look like in a team of 6?

I think that's probably for combat noises. You know how, in some games, characters make grunts, say things, etc. when attacking or getting hit? It might be the option to customize that.

Very cool. As for the "round shadows" things, I doubt they will be in the final version. The last time they used simple round shadows was in the original PSO on Dreamcast. By the time the game hit Xbox & Gamecube they had more realistic shadowing, which you can see by looking at some of the screenshots on the site. I guess it's possible they could cut corners with that part of the game, but it would really take away from what appear to be amazing graphics.

Just to add to that, consider PSO for GameCube and Xbox. Back during early screens and video footage, both versions also had round circle shadows.

As far as the PC version goes, it'll probably be like in BB where low graphics mode results in a circle shadow, but higher modes give more detailed shadowing effects.

So I decided to give an organized translation of the character creation (i know cynric partially covered it, but it was scattered)

Ok so...

First screen is pretty obvious-

RACE
GENDER

The next screen is the bulk for nondroids-

FACE- 3 for girls, 16 for guys because it includes facial hair. Also is adjustable with proportions.
EYES- 6 for both genders. Color is completely customizable.
EYEBROWS- 19 for girls. Not adjustable.
EYELASH- 13 for girls, 3 for guys. This one isn't shown. My Japanese textbook says it translates to eyelash, but 13 kinds?
EARS- 3 for Newmans (changes position), 2 for Humans (appears to change size), 3 for Beast (???).
HAIR- 16 for both genders. Only 16? A nice improvement over PSO but let's hope this number goes up though. (adjustable color of course)
UNDERWEAR- 5 for both. (Teehee undies!)
SKIN COLOR- Goes on a slider scale. No different hues.
PROPORTION- Same as PSO, but easier to read.

Next screen is for Costumes!
JACKET- 50 different kinds for guys, 60 for girls!
PANTS- 50-60 again!
SHOES- 50-60 again OMGWTFBBQ!
VOICETYPE- 5 types for both. (I wasn't sure on this one, but seems to be confirmed by Cynric's post)

Next screen is the name screen...

Now for androids!

FACE- 8 different parts to choose from (note:only the face, not the whole head)
ROBO???/EYES- Done on a slider scale when a non-humanoid face is chosen. Who knows what that does, it was skipped in the video... When a human face is chosen it becomes eyes. 3 types available.
EYEBROWS- 19 types(only available on humanoid faces)
EYELASH- 3 types for males, probably 13 fro females. (only available on humanoid faces)
HELMET- 5 different parts... Only 5?
???- This one is skipped. Done on a slider scale. I have no clues!
BODYCOLOR1?- 8 color options. Oddly, it's not completely adjustable... Don't quote me on this one...
BODYCOLOR2?- Done by a slider. Changes the more skin-like color. Hue selection doesn't seem to be available, although it seems to change in the video...
PROPORTION- Yea...

Next screen is droid outfits!

ARMOR- 4 types. Deals with shoulder part deelys...
TORSO- 4 types. More armor-like stuff. Deals with the central body parts...
LEGS- 4 types. Not shown, but you can take a guess...
VOICETYPE- 5 types again. (I hope voice types are different for each race <.<)

I hope the hairstyles arent exactly the same for all 3 races... even though its looking like that will be the case. 16 hairstyles for all three races just seems like not enough variety to me.... But even still, everything looks amazing!

I bet the casts with human like faces will get a similar skin color scale, but more pale looking

I noticed that they are doubles or triples of the same kind of jacket, but different colors, out of the 50, just from watching the video. I believe it was 36-38 were all the same trenchcoat style but different color schemes. I was hoping we'd be able to customize the colors on each style, but I guess it will be alright with 50 total. I'm sure to find something I like.

I can see they're not behind at all in the network, it's just that they've left that information for last. I love how the character moves more naturally when standing still.

The voice's will be for when you fight. In other vids it shows Ethan grunting as he hits enemies.

I doubt there would actually be a voice generator in teh game that recites what you type.

yes and no, but the possibilities are endless, the sega team could make a lot more new choices for customizing but it looks really good (customization wise) so far
