Alternatives to Gamespot/IGN

I think the epitome of dumbassery came when IGN suddenly dropped transparent GIF-like images on news articles I want to read with an ad. I am not going to visit that site ever again and will request people to link me to somewhere else. I am also frustrated at the fact that Gamespot is now dropping you to an IGN-like ad page that loads a Flash ad and then links you to THE HOME PAGE instead of the article you want to read.

This is stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. I would like reasonable alternatives to Gamespot and IGN...and Gamespy.

1up.com is pretty good from the few times i've been there.

Otherwise I don't know of any other game specific sites, however I do know alot of tech sites that might mention videogames every so often, like SlashDot and Digg.
