Yo I got a question

Ok, now in Episode I and II, can u go freely between Episode I and II? Or is it like 2 seperate games where u can only play on 1? And if u can only play on one, wouldn't it just be worth starting on Episode2 for all the pso veterans? Or can u convert your character back and forth between Episode I and II? This 2 games in 1 thing is really confusing me.

It's all in one game... u start out exploring familiar areas like forest, caves, etc then finally move up to the brand new levels factory, beach and so on.
