So these guys had a metal detecting robot, sent it out, and it just happened to find treasure, and without the robot it would never have been discovered.

Tell me why the Chilean government thinks they deserve the treasure?

Imminent Domain? If a Chinese team came to America and started looking at random for a legendary treasure, and found a historical treasure of American history, I imagine we'd be fighting tooth and nail to keep it too.

Granted, I feel if Chile wants to keep the more historical items, they make sure what they choose fits within half of the treasure that the company wants to split, and personally, if I had a company that found that big of a treasure, I would'nt have said a damn thing. Chile would have seen alot of trucks going through and coming back around the clock as the excavation was underway.

But ah well, it's a very interesting find. Hope to hear more about it after everything is excavated.
