can the j-sword be unsealed in all versions of pso (EU and US) is it right that it takes 23,000 kills to unseal the J-sword?

Because i spoke to a guy online and he said that it is no possible to unseal a j-sword in the EU version...

I have pso on the xbox.

They don't know what they were talking about.

On GC/XBox (doesn't matter which region), the Sealed J-Sword becomes 'useable' (unsealable) once you kill 23,000 enemies with it.

Edit: Oh, almost forgot! Has to be a LEGITIMATE Sealed J-Sword. Hacks/dupes don't unseal if I remember correctly.

This is true, it does have to be legit, or so I'm told...

The only version where you cannot unseal a legitimate Sealed J-Sword is V2 for the Dreamcast.

About v2, I'm pretty sure the description on the Sealed J-Sword says it paralyzes the user (not on GC/Xbox/BB for anyone who didn't know).

Is the paralysis randomly inflicted, like the Slow status it inflicts on the newer versions of PSO?

v2 slowed I believe, I'll test it out later if you're really that interested in finding out

Hmm, perhaps it was V1 then, in the item database, the SJS has a different description in one picture, it was that I was curious about, having never played v1/v2.

SJS was an almost impossible drop or so from Greenill Delsaber on V1. In V2, several IDs got it at a bit easier rate from ult Delsaber. But still, I had never seen one until Blue Burst.

SJS didn't even exist on v1.

Drops weren't enemy-specific, either. Any enemy in Ultimate Ruins could drop a Sealed J-Sword.

As far as unsealing goes; You can unseal dupes as long as they have the kill counter on them. The kill counter is stored in a percentage offset, and since there are no percentages on most hacks, there is no counter. If you put a percentage in the counter space, it would unseal fine. This being said, an SJS can only have two percentages.

It's just that an item with 9 to 12 stars was not necessarily "rare".

The thing that made me originally believe that v1 and v2 didn't have set drop rates was Yellowboze Delsaber dropping SBeat's Arms, but then someone pointed it out that that was just a mistake on ST's part, and not completely random drops.

Which made sense, since my Oran FOnewearl found 2 Agito 2001 from Dark Belra in Hard Ruins.

Just pointing out that v1 and v2 drops could be confused to being random, and the charts seem harder to find too.

||SJS didn't even exist on v1.

My bad, I was looking at the V2 drop and assumed the one in VH existed in V1.

As for drops on DC, God Shield Byakko is a 1/198k from Gulgus Gue... that's rather rare for such a crappy shield.
On the other hand, Spread needle dropped fairly often from Indy Belra. A goof thing too, because the ueber weapons often came with -40% hit... Well, spread needle was rather useless on DC anyway.
