I have a number of series that I forget about. This is an observation that I made just recently, in fact. Series like, Martian Successor Nadesco. I have the whole thing. I've had it for a couple of years, now. I also have the first DVD of Excel Saga. Excellent series. I always forget that I have that DVD. I am also aware that I have in my posession, a couple of other DVDs and VHS casettes involving series that I just don't remember what they are.

I own a boxed set of Silent Mobius, the complete collection of Cowboy Bebop, including the movie, as well as all of the original Transformers series and the first season of Inuyasha, as well as a couple of the Inuyasha movies.

In addition to all of that, my wife has seen to it that we own a boxed set of Sailor Moon movies, and the first season of Magic Knights: Rayearth. In contrast, I have made sure that we have a healthy collection of John Wayne movies, which are very much not anime, but are fortunately full of awsome macho lines that are meant to convey how hard John Wayne will beat his full-grown son's ass, if he should happen to refer to him as "daddy" just one more time.

I also own one DVD of hentai, that DVD being Elven Bride. For the record, it was my wife's idea to purchase it while we were at the Anime Expo this year, and being a guy such as I am, I hastily agreed.

I think that just about covers it.

I really like Turn A Gundam and Im finding it hard to work out why it gets such a bad reputation. It has its own unique feel compared to the other series, with all the Victorian styled vehicles and setting(there seems to be a mild steam punk influence). I think its what Miyazaki would do if he ever got his hands on Gundam.

I havent finished watching the series completely yet, but I intend to binge on it this week (University Presentations will finally be out of the way, giving me some free, anime based time).

Well. People doesn't seem to like things that are different from the "formula". Turn A had a few really new concepts that was in it, and people didn't like it.

1. Mecha design. It was different, it didn't have all the uber loaded super huge guns and wasn't invincible and everything.

2. Interesting female characters that didn't exist for the sake of boob-bouncing and looking pretty. OMG. Blasphemous. (one of the reasons I love the series so much)

3. OMG! Old stuff! Victorian? What's up with that? >.>

4. One of the biggest arguement was that people didn't not like how in the end it tied up all the time period in all gundam series to put them in the same time line.

Ya.
I love it. It has great characters, great storylines. It was different yet true to what Gundam is. In my opinion, to follow that up with that piece of trash call Seed makes a huge disgrace for the licence.

Yep, sounds about right. People really dont like change, and Turn A was quite different. The mecha design was done by the same Artist who did the designs for 'Blade Runner', and they were very different. I also like the concept behind tying all the series into one continuity, it gives a Cricle of events feel to proceedings. Humans will always make tools of war, they will always ineciate war but there will always be the good sides of humanity who stands agaisnt this. And seeing as Gundam X left the planet as a semi deserted wasteland it gives some reasoning for the technological state that Turn A was currently in.

And Gundam Seed was a lil to happy with the 'boob bouncing' episode 49 did a Mexicain Wave of boob bouncing by having 3 female characters perform the action.

It was a Six episode OVA, but was played in one large run on the UK's Toonami channel. I really enjoyed Blue Submarine 6, visually it was quite attractive and the storyline wasnt too bad, even though some of the ending was a bit odd.

- Miscellaneous episodes of Pokemon I taped off Kids WB when I was in 6th grade
- Some nonsensical anime movie that came with .hack//INFECTION (the PS2 game)
- Disc 2 of season 1 of Outlaw Star that I borrowed from a friend and forgot to return

Yeah, as you can see, I'm a pretty hard core anime fan. *leans back confidently in chair*

I can't believe I'm the only one here who likes Elfen Lied... Granted, it's a litte gory, explicit with the nudity, and genuinely distrubing at times (Mayu's step father...), but overall it's a very enjoyable show I think.
