View Full Version : EXP loss, how does it work?

Someone once stated in a FAQ that EXP loss is also determined by what enemy you get killed by, and what area/episode you're in.

I think it's just this:

10% of what you've gained of this level loss if you're Scaped/Revived

and not sure how much is lost if you return to P2.

However, on the Scape/Rev end of things, I've never noticed it "go easier" on me because I got killed by a harder enemy, or because of what episode/area I'm in.

Scapes reduce exp loss.

Moons, Reverser, going back to p2 do not.

I'm pretty sure that Scapes/Moon/Rev are on the same tier and that P2 gives more loss.

Nice, experience loss. What next? You lose your weapon because an enemy killed you? Except you lose it permanently!

That's a little different. Gaining EXp. isn't nearly as hard or time consuming as finding those awesome weapons like excalibur/ heaven striker/SJS. And on topic, if you lose exp from moons/ Reverser, it's minimal. I know, I definitely die too often.

But i would hate to lose so much exp from dying>.> items are so dependable http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif levels arn't >.>(that made no sense to me<.<)

Well when I die with scapes i lose less experience compared to dying and being revived by moons and reverser.. that's how my experience is.

Well. If you want you can get to L200 first, then test it.

You're right. I didn't realize you were such a high level. I guess the whole "Items are harder to get than Exp." doesn't apply to you! Sorry about that. And by the way, SJS is harder to get than excalibur IMO too.

i am not on BB.
But i know the feeling of leveing at higher levels.
Searching for Rare items can take many levels, But mainly just for Dana i never really cared much for skyly's ubers. Yahsa >.> not goign to happen. >.> skyly cards i wish. Psycho wand Better chance of having 5 GM.
HP is the only slightly easy uber, and CCA spielgels arn't easy to get lots of.
In just want to get her to 200. The rares are of little importance to me. I can hunt them in easier ID's and after gettong to 200. and http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif leving in Ruins has that "chance" of getting 3 ubers http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

what about getting to 199. Dying and needing 5 million to level?

The answer there is simple. Once you get to 190+, dont die. Ever. lol 5 million is the approximate distance between 199 and 200. So you would probably lose 500k with a scape if that 10% thing holds true.

ST always seems to change what they make you lose when you die. On Dreamcast you lost your weapon,on Gamecube/Xbox you lost all the meseta on you (if you go to P2), and now you lose experience. Im wondering which of the last 2 is better for PW4. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Currently trying to search for where I had seen the answer to this before, but I do recall seeing/hearing that it is a percent of what you had gained in that level. So it scales as you get closer to levelling.

-Looking back, doesn't seem like it was exactly found out at the time I thought it was, either.

Though, from what I remembered, you did seem to lose less the earlier you were into the level. It should be fairly easy to test, if someone's willing. A little ways after getting a level, or something similar.

but if you lose below your needs then your final exp level would be above what it shoudl be.
like die loads and final exp is 90M <_< like v2 al over again >.>;;

I'd always assume that you'd lose total exp as well, so no matter what, at 200 you'd have 83 million followed by the other numbers I don't remember.

The exp loss stops at a certain point. That point being the amount of exp tnl that you started with when you first got to whatever level you're at.

But if it scales to a percent of what you gained that level, you'd stop losing experience once you got closer to 0 experience gained for that level.

Instead of levelling down, nothing would happen at all if you died at that point.

That's if the percent thing or another safeguard is inserted, of course. I highly doubt that you can get your TNL that high, but I could be wrong.

Too many replies, ahhh!

When you lose exp, the total exp is affected, so the max is still 83 227 800.

One thing is sure, by the time I get Lv 200, I'd have earned 100 000 000, really >_>
