View Full Version : How do you get these good character screenshots?

I see a lot of really nice images of characters that are taken from the game.

I was wondering how you get such good screens and with the characters facing forward and in certain poses?

I have a TV tuner card (though it's a buggy piece of crap) and have done a few screencaps... but none of them get the full shot of the character, and I have to screw with the position of my character to get a halfways decent camera angle. (And of course the pics are a bit fuzzy, because of the card.) I hook up the DC video out to the video in on the TV tuner card.

Is there some way to get good pics w/ the DC? Or are you using the PC Network Trial edition for these pictures? (And doing a Print Screen.)

I know there was a way to use the DC to take snapshots, but I figure it wouldn't look any different than using a TV Tuner card to do it.

Options:

A) Get a good video capture card, such as ATi Wonder or similar.

B) Download PSO PC and "grab" the screen.

I opted for the "B" since I don't have a video capture card.

The result is really good!

Alot of the pose-like images, they get by going online with multiple people and then someone takes the shot just looking at the person, like someone with a camera would do.

Looks pretty good. Though straight-on poses are a little boring.

Nice screens!

You can rotate them using the "TAB" key. And if you wait a few seconds without pressing any key they'll start to run!

If not try what SubZero said: ask someone with a video capture card to take a pic of you.

Cool. I didn't know about the running thing. I think CTRL also rotates the character. (Maybe TAB is rotate left and CTRL is rotate right.)

Does that work while you're setting up your character attributes? Both these shots were from after you confirm your character's attributes by hitting OK. If taken before that, you don't get your section ID to show up.

Yep... it's a mess. I mean, it's a workaround, not the better solution.

I took the screens of my chara while creating them. I mean: before the section ID tag appears on them. In this way I can take close up images of them (for example, while choosing the hair cut you get a close view of chara).

To solve the sec ID tag problem I simply downloaded a section ID gif and applied it on my characters using Photoshop.... tricky way, isn't it? ^_^;;;
