Well I just got back from seeing this movie~

Who else has watched it~?

personally I rather liked liked it http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

moved a little bit too fast for me but then again that was a big book to turn to movie http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif either way I suggest ya watch it~

[Spoilers maybe~?]

Moody was pretty neat~ His eye sorta stuck out a little too far for my tastes~ past that he sorta reminded me of a cool bubbles form trailer park boys~

Teh giant lady was ugly~ ._. well... at least to me http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

The buexbotens ( sp? ) acadamy's first apperance was rather... over done~ =3 *dainty walk, over done sigh, walk again, sigh again repeat till they reach dumbledore* http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif past that the girls are cute =3

Durmstrangs ( sp? ) appearance was rather neat http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif slamming staffs into the ground with sparks and fancy moves~ and fire breathign http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif They look neat but don't get to see much of Durmstrang or the other acadamy http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Voldemort didn't look at all how I pictured him http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif no nose... or hair... or much of anything <_<; basically a flat pale face ._. I dunno... I sorta pictured him... differantly o.o;

They changed some of the stuff like usual, such as there is no dobby... or the other house elf. Barty Jr is free from the beggining of the movie form harry's dream... didn't even show much of anything from the quidditch cup ._.

despite things like that I still enjoyed the show very much so~

I'm the only person I know that isn't interested. :/

If it's missing a lot of parts from the book, then I won't be interested either.

I loved Harry Potter 1 & 2 as movies, because they included pretty close to everything, and it didn't feel as rushed. But in HP3, as the books starting getting bigger, obviously they would have to cut out stuff from the movie. My problem with this is, they cut out so much, and the pace was stupidly fast, that I really couldn't enjoy it.

Now, as far as the books go, Harry Potter 4 is my favourite, but I'm worried about watching the movie, that I won't like it as much. And of course, I'll have to endure the terribleness of Harry Potter 5 next... http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

You know it is gonna be missing a lot of things. SO much happened in that book. I read a reviw and they said it felt like it was a high-speed replay of the book. Basically, OMG moment just about every second. XD

Went to see it. Liked it. Felt rushed. Understood why. And went to eat at Rubios later.

Seriously though, its a good movie to see. At least the sense of dark times is GROWING with each passing movie.

But if you are going to be finicky about not seen every detail from the book, just remember, not everyone likes to sit for 6 hours for one movie.

I should be seeing it tomorrow. At least THIS one has a real and good director. Mike Newell. With films such as Pushing Tin, Donnie Brasco and Four Weddings and a Funeral under his belt, it should proove to be very well directed. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Yeah, yeah, I understand that they'll have to miss some parts of the book, and if it was longer, I wouldn't have the patience to sit through it (I cannot sit through any of the Lord of the Rings movies), so, I guess there's no way to remedy my problem http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Well, I could just reread the book. Literature!

Make that two people who aren't interested http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif I personally couldn't care less about Harry Potter, but my younger nephew is totally into it and said he really liked it.

I saw the end. Voldemort looks like this guy I work with, except for the lack of nose and hair.

I'm a little ambivalent about going to see it.

For one, I wasn't overly fond of the 4th book to begin with, for two, the movie version of PoA was... Bad.

Oh, it was a good movie, exciting and all, but they could have cut out the added, unnecessary scene with Snape that didn't happen in the book to include, oh, I dunno, one of the most important parts of the book on an emotional level? Y'know, the authors of the Marauder's Map and WHY Harry's Patronus is what it is? -_-;;;

So I'm a tad skeptical.

I will most likely not watch this movie until one of my siblings gets it on DVD and I'm really bored or sick.
i'm not saying i hated the movies, or the books, but I still think they aren't that great.

I saw it. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

It was pretty good, but they rushed the beginning a little. Other than that it was pretty good.

Just got home from seeing it in DLP. That's digital to some of the lesser enlightened here. I have to say, it was one of the better ones. Mike Newell really knows what he's doing. If J.K. Rowling has any say in it, she would let him do either 6 or 7, seeing that the director for 5 is already chosen, but rumor has it that Christopher Columbus is returning for the last of the films.

It was decent, wouldn't be head-over-heels to see it again. Pretty good to those who haven't read the book; (from what I've heard at least.)

I would have liked more if most of the scenes were given enough time to develope, the confrontation between Voldemort and Harry seemed rushed and I was left disappointed.

Edited for lack of 'jerkness'.

Ah, teach someone to read and see a critic be born. Shees. You just reminded me of why sometimes I think education backfires. You left me a sense that IF you hadnt taken said courses you might have enjoyed the movie. But now that you are "enlighten" its crap because... uhm... you were taught better? Sorry, didnt mean to sound offensive but your whole premise is a bit comical.

Now if you were to say. "Saw it, hated it, life goes on" I could respect that. But the whole thing just went to the toilet when you had to back it up with your curriculum. =/

I saw it twice on Saturday, haha! I really liked it, just not as much as Prisoner of Azkaban. That has got to be my fav so far.
Only two complaints really I have is the new Dumbledore, I've never liked the new one, and the rock concert. I mean, they got my hopes all up with the whole fancy ball and pretty clothes, and then...

I second that. TOH, sorry to say it, but your whole post was a laugh and a half.

Back on topic! I was somewhat dissapointed with the movie as a whole, although it certainly had its fair share of good things going for it. I'm not a huge fan of the HP franchise, although I have viewed and own the past three films on DVD (ya' know... family members). The pacing of the movie felt a bit uneven for my tastes (not necessarily yours), especially considering that I've not read the books and therefore lack a full understanding of what was going on. I could get into a huge fucking spiel about the camera, lighting, scoring, acting, story... the whole mise en scene enchilada, but honestly, I only watched the damn movie once, as I assume you did as well, TOH.

Even if I were to get into all of the motifs, tropes and what have you, I'd still show enough common courtesy to the readers to keep the unjustified, pompous attitude out of it. As things stand though, I'll reserve complete judgement for when I can actually back up most of what I might actually come to say. I'll simply leave it at "somewhat dissapointed, will rent again later."

I apologize for my post, and have edited accordlying. I realize I did come off as bit of an ass. =/

After seeing LotR, I was also a bit disappointed as being a large fan of the books. My brother told me I should look at it as someone else's way of telling the same story. Guess I didn't look at it this way because I was hoping to learn so much from the film, I failed to just enjoy it as a fan.

Anyways, hope this fixes things a little.

Like what some dude said on the radio

"It sold more on opening night then the other three because of the story being more intense, and Hermonie has boobs"

Like crap if I know if I spelled her name right >_>

Don't plan on seeing it, like the other three, no real reason when I know the books are better, and the story really doesn't work with me unless it's the book.
