I am really poor/cheap and am about to buy a dreamcast because its about a fifth the price of a gamecube. I wanted some information about the dc version. I heard that its playable offline but that its only 1 player. So here are some questions.

1. Is it worth it?
2. Any Major changes?
3. Also My friends have gone through three pso disks for gc. What is wrong with these disks?

I use to have a DC untill I upgraded to a GC with PSo because some things u can't get on the DC that are on the GC and as a start It's worth it and Iv only gon throught 2 discs I just looked after them.

there is one advantage about the DC it free to go online I think and there are different Quests you can get online too.
I hope this helps?

oh and forgot it 1-4palyer off line use to play four player off line but it one player online

yeah I thought they were shut down. Is Bsod and hackers a big problem?

The official DC servers have been taken down, but there are some homebrew-style servers that you can log into for free. It's against the forum rules to discuss those, though.

1. GC/PSOX is a better game. DC PSO really has nothing on it except price.
2. If you are going from GC to DC, you will lose all of Episode 2 and 3 character classes. Depending on which DC version you buy, you may also lose Ultimate.
3. Maybe you bought them used and they were scratched? Maybe there is a problem with your GC?

Also, the US DC servers were taken down. They are still up for JP and EU.

The problem is clearly thier GC. Mine no longer plays any game. And it started with PSO. I have Plus and the regular version. Good condition, 0 scratchs.

The EU version on DC differed from the US version in 2 ways. First, you didn't have to buy a Hunters' License, which meant free play (advantage!). Secondly, the save game file was linked to your Dreamcast, which meant that if your DC broke and couldn't be fixed, you could no longer go on-line with those characters if you tried them on another DC (disadvantage!!).
