Um... Cube told me to make this topic.

Anyhow, I went out and bought a host, and I have a generic domain name I've been sitting on... so if anyone's interested we can r0x.

Interested.

It's about PSO, right?

Its a cool idea, i remember it being mentioned in another thread.

I could help by adding useless fan fics and ideas. I would give a hand with making the site, but my Web design skills are only sub par. Maybe i could help when i pic up a bit more in that area.

Sounds like a good idea.

Yes.

Hrm. Spy elaborate a bit heh... It's actually a really good idea... Especially if every character/Person could get their own page on their characters life, history, etc..

Spy

I dont know. If each person wants their own page, that could work, or if they want to just upload files and have a directory with their name on it, that could work too.

The only real limitation with me is technology. Im playing with a php script right now but some of it is just beyond my understanding right now http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

But really, what do people want, and how can we accomodate that?

Role-play in PSO is fairly limited to speaking as your character would when you have to speak. (E.G. if your character is a tempermental Force, you'd respond to being asked to cast Resta for someone by saying "Heal you again?! When are you going to learn to fight properly?") Fanfics, however, can go way beyond what the game is limited to, and therefore a fanfiction section on the site would probably be the best idea.

You could run Roleplaying along side fan fics or site news or something.

You could have it that you have to meet certain members at certain times to advance plot, or battle mode with a rival, or sit in some lobby chairs. It could be worked out in a very simple way, but with some limetations (is that the right sp? god i hate the long words)

More than likely the fanfics will be 2nd to roleplaying, and used more as refference materials.

I like the idea of a central plot. The trick would be getting everyone to stick to it though.

I've got to go to work soon, but I will probably be on all night tonight with tomorrow off from work(YAY!).

But seriously. Anyone interested, lets have a meeting of somekind, either in PSOW's IRC Chat or over AIM or some similar medium.

AIM and IRC are both good to go for me, just give me the time (Central American Time Zone, plz, if anyone can do that), and hopefully I can be there.

Mmm... there's a sample of one system we could implement. Please, don't laugh at the frame idea...

*tries to keep a straight face but breaks up laughing*

Frames suck. I'm thinking one main page with links to every member's site. BTW - I can do subdomains. For example, your site url would be http://charactername.shadowplains.com/ . I can also set up personal FTP accounts. *Drool*

Soliptic-YOU made Project Sols??? Or do you just like it as much as I do?

Don't we already have that? The people on Pioneer 2 come from all walks of life, and the hunters investigate what's going on down there? The only trick would be getting an IC thing down for either A) Falz's frequent reappearance or B) some way to glaze over the whole thing with Dark Falz completely.

That plot is for any dolt who plays PSO. However, the actual world of PS, not that we'd nesc. have to follow it, contained soo many variables, factions, and details that could be expanded upon.

Yes, the basic plot works, but it's just that basic, and begs to be spun off of.

For example, why does P2 have to be the only ship from the Algo system to arrive at Ragol? What about the military side of P2? Does the Hunters Guild have a monopoly or could another rival guild pop-up and steal contracts.

What if people from other galaxies were summoned to Ragol *cough*spy*cough* to help play a part in the events unfolding.

To limit ourselves just to "Hunters going down to kill Falz" is just a waste of immagination.

Your right, PSO has shown us that there's more to the Phantasy Star series than just "find out what's going on, then kill Falz". Heck, on every even-numbered PS, Falz isn't even the main enemy! We could make up a new bad guy, maybe even somone DF answers to! We could make a revisit to the Algo/Algol system, strike a rebellion, even go into the future when Falz is about to be ressurected.

The realm of PS is immensly vast, and not limited to just PSO. And it's this vastness which makes sticking to the central plot a little difficult.

Don't worry Spy, you'll figure something out.

I wasn't saying that we should limit ourselves to what we've been given, just to stay within that mythos. I wouldn't put some plot twists past this continuity (like another ship showing up), but I was just saying that we've already got some sort of continuity going on. See what I'm saying?

The only working link is to the messageboard. Added a CSS to the page. The main template is almost done.

Now all I need to do is write all the content o_O;

Hehe, okay. I'm not going to fully announce the messageboard though until the rest of the site is done... or nearer to completion.
