Highlight the file you want to remove, Hit Shift and then Delete, then say yes.

Don't delete that, it only makes it hard to find all over again. Besides, it's redundant.

Be sure to empty your recycle bin...

I've known too many idiots who got busted by their boss or significant other for things they weren't supposed to be looking at when they took a little browse through the Recycle Bin.

It's simple to clear the MEMORY, you turn it off and the RAM resets. However, if you are asking on how to clean files off the hard disk drive it really depends on how you should choose to do so. If all you need to do is delete them then simply selecting them and deleting them, then clearing the recycle bin is enough.

However, I'm really not quite sure what the question is so I shall go a bit further. You could, instead of using Windows to delete the files, use another program (like Norton SystemWorks) to do a government wipe of the data. This will assure that even recovery programs (such as RecoverMyFiles) cannot recover the files. A government wipe works by writing all 0s (or 1s) to the drive where the file data used to be, at least 3 times. For a CIA type wipe it is generally 5-8 times though sometimes more if there is risk the data is going to be sifted through by professional analysts (like the CIA). But, for residential uses a simple once through should work fine. It will be as if nothing even existed to the vast majority of computer users.

Though, I am going to assume that you have no clue what I just said and are just trying to find the porn you downloaded on your parent's computer that you aren't supposed to have. In that case they have every right for being angry should they find out because it is illegal if you are under 18 (and in some places 21 or having porn at all is illegal). I only assume this because you type like someone who just found out that there is such a thing as porn on the internet and are too shy to admit it.

isnt 1989 the youngest year you can put?

as well as the default year.

well, your browser should have an option about how long it should keep the history - switch that to zero.

then you can clear the cache there too. just look around the options.

the last used files you get in the start menu can be erased by using the 'settings -> startmenu' option. there is a clearing option.

just make sure you delete it out of the recyvling bin, that will be good enough to hide it from your parents. Next time download it to an external drive if youre really that worried. But I wouldnt worry about parents finding it most seem to pretty cool about that kind of things. Your 16? your practically an adult your parents should understand that your going through changes.

Instead of deleting the files, why don't you just make the folder(s) in question that contains the file(s) hidden? Just select the folder, right click it, select "Hidden" under Attributes, and then select the option that hides only the folder.

To gain access to the folder, simply go to the folder the hidden folder is in, and in the bar at the top, simply type in another backslash, and then then name of the folder.

I would try a proxy server. I use proxymouse.com and proxy7.com for the school computers.

Not really. Sex is sex. Though pornography can objectify those it presents, a person with any sort of handle on reality can usually make the difference between fiction and our world. Those that cannot, well, it's better than them going off and shooting people in the head.

It is possible to be in a healthy relationship and still divulge in the realm of fantasy (of the sexual sort). Though you may, it is somewhat hard to fantasize about the person that you are already having sex with. Maybe, pornography featuring real actors could be banned, if people are truly concerned what happens to the actors (which, for the fortunate, involves a book deal or two).

Porno is like a fantasty novel. It's not what's real, and that's why you like it. Just another form of escapism. If you rally against escapism in sexual activities, please cancel your forum account, cancel your Hunter's License, burn your fantasy novels, trash your games, and start divulging in non-ficiton.
