That shadowy shape above the potato shaped asteroid is the probe. Looks kinda like two pong paddles and the ball, eh?

Its real news:

Speculation time!

Is it gonna blow up a-la the movie Armeggedon via Bruce Willis? Or something worse?

Breaking News!

It may have failed. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency said the Hayabusa probe landed Tuesday on the potato-shaped asteroid called Itokawa. However, it may have failed to shoot a small metal ball into the surface to loosen the dust samples.

Scientists, when will they learn to shoot BIG METAL BALLS.

I'd think that wouldn't fail as often.

Well this was still in FKL at the time and I meant it in a joking manner.

Rather than make fun of the blatantly obvious narcissism going on here with me, a mod moved it over here instead.

A simple "Haha, Haya failed" would have made my day.

But hey, its real news, real BORING nerdy news. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

It's not nerdy at all. Some of us appreciate the complex universe we live in, and seek to learn about it.

Shh, don't tell anyone I had been reading up about this event for a while.

But hey, I could have a worse sense of humor about it.
