Nice Quest!!!

http://psobb.jp/community/event/NETCASHCUP/

I hope some poeple will be suckered into submitting infos about it... Sonic Team withheld any infos, so I had to do a few runs to learn maps and such (andfailed miserably).

The biggest question is: why can't a team of 4 very high level people clear that quest in Hard Mode?

Crater West: 4 switches to press, 235 ennemies being max.

Crater Center: The maze is left tel, left tel, left tel, then reenter the tel you came from.
Clear one more room, you will see another tel. You can go there to take the shortest route.
Clear all the rooms of Center then go to the elevator in the middle of the crater: another terminal, another route.
Clear all the rooms then go up to get an extra route that leads to SubDes3.

Subdes3 (the only route I've tried yet)
This route has a crapload of Detonators (20+?) and 50+? Melissa. I've seen only 2 Gilta, but I have never been to the end of the last room anyways...

I'll start looking for jp sites with maps...

If anybody is secretly playing on JP BB righht now, any help is appreciated.

I was done with my exams today http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif I'm no student anymore! Just unemployed lol

Anyway,

I got 537 at the end of Desert 3, and I think it's the most you can get. You get 30 Lucky tickets for this, and can thus try your luck 3 times in teh rappy lottery quest.

Funnily enough, many people try it in Ultimate, which is very cool.

I haven't seen the route for Desert 1, but Desert 2 is cool as well. No Gilta in there as far as I could see, but a trap teleport that will lead you to more rooms AFTER you got the "Mission Completed!! push on the terminal" message. It's nothing, but I found teh idea nice.

I will post pics later.

btw you can play the roulette as many times as you have tickets...
milestone prize is Crazy Tune
Best TA prize is... present ticket
Most kills is Huge Bouquet

I have the maps for Desert 3 and 1 cut into pieces, but I will need some time and brains to put them together http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif I wouldn't know how to start making them...

I *think* that some spawns are activated or deactivated by healing rings. I made the shortest route possible and we got 234 kills, then someone in the party said that he had gotten 222.

I seriously hope that there is a kind of "maximum kills for this route" option because 30 tickets may be OK, but it's got to be rewarding to a do a perfect...

AAnd btw way: shortest route Terminal is *before* the teleport maze.
Also, you can start crater interior in the "wrong" direction. Supposing you rcharacter cna hanlde it, you will need about the same time to clear the last two rooms as your friends will need to clear the whole rest. There is a spawn of 3 dorphons at the same time, so be cautious http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Well the thing is that I have to get them from screen shots and they don't necessarily have the same zoom.
I have made the maps for crater, Des1, Des2, Des3, but they are not complete and I could need some extra time to fix them (plus I suck at Photoshop, I couldn't do anything more than drap and drop).

There's a map for Crater West:
http://mekemeke3.exblog.jp/

You have to scroll down (the first entry is very intense with pics) to get to the right part. Incidentally, the first entry is so funny that I almost wet my pants, so if you understand japanese, read it, it's well worth it.

Anyway.
Got a Photon Crystal on the roulette, as well as 3 PDs and like 10 scape dolls. 8 of them were left to rot http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I've gotten 567 a few times now through desert 2. I think it's the max kill route. Des3 yields 537 and desert 1... good question. I heard something like 510 in the lobbies, but I have not played it fully yet.

Crater West has 235 ennemies.
Crater Interior has 129. Max is 364 before the desert maps.

We almost cleared Ult Des3 last time, but we used the shortcut. With a proper team, I'd say 430 something is possible even in ultimate. (2 "forces" and 2 "hunters")

I'll do some scribbling on my maps then post them. They suck, so don't expect much http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Crapiness time! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif;

Maps for Crater West:

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/1817/smallmapwest1c0gr.jpg

Press both switches of this map to open an extra room in the last part.

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/6451/smallmapwest2c5al.jpg

If you press the switch on the blue way you will open the fence in Crater Interior and thus enable going counterclockwise.
If you press the switch on the purple way it will open the last room of Crater Interior with the 3 Dorphons spawn.

Last part:

http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/1126/mapwestlast14iw.jpg

Map for Interior:*EDIT: New Map for Great Justice!
The blue route is the plain, normal way to go, the purple route is only available under certain circumstances.
In Red I "drew" the lines you can't cross in the maze.

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/3695/mapcraterinteriorbetter9ss.jpg

When you have 4 people you can let one player go counterclock wise and kill the spawns of the last 2 rooms.
Also, *all 4 players* can go counterclock wise for a short version of Crater Interior that will still bring them to Desert 2 or 3. You miss about 100 ennemies, but it is probably necessary to do this to complete the quest in Ultimate.

Desert 1 with several people:

http://img438.imageshack.us/img438/3976/desrtfinal3bn.jpg

The normal road is long in there, and the extra bits for extra killing are long too. There is a Girta in the last room.

Desert 2 with several people:

The purple route has more kills so send the stronger players there.
The blue route is rather short and easy.
The orange points are pillars that will open the orange fences in the middle - you will need at least one of these to reach the goal.
The green points are teleports.
In Red are stuffs that you can't cross.

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/9841/mapdes2last4yu.jpg

Well, just split in room 2 and proceed from there.
In Ultimate, the blue route is the shortest way to victory - ignore the extra room.

Desert 2 alone but with max kills:

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7101/mapdesert2ver28pj.jpg

The trick is to avoid the room with the maze. (no spawns, no pillars, no warps in there, only rocks and traps)

Desert 3 with several people:

http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/357/mapdesert3b4gn.jpg

The red boxes are item areas (8 to 12 boxes in each)
The purple way is the fastest route, but be wary of the dark room. Send one character there at the start and only one, if s/he can handle it. If you accidentally warp to there, fall into the pit and warp back to the start.
The reddish way is the best way to go because it brings maximum kills one way or the other.

OKay, other bits of info:

-500+ kills give 30 tickets (max)
-400+ give 15
-300+ give 10

Basically, 500 ennemies are enough. I will try to keep a score to find where to avoid monsters.

Got another crystal... I will probably get all Black Paper items and then some.

OK, updated maps in my message above.

I am still working on desert 1 because I miss some rooms. I might do Crater west as well.

I designed a 504 kills route that I could (and did) achieve in Ultimate mode. You need 4 people, 2 must know the way.
-Kill everything in Crater West and press all 4 switches.(235)
-Do the first room of Interior then go back and do the last rooms (up to the teleport to Desert 3). (301)
-Go to desert 2 and kill everything. (504)

OK, all maps up.

The Time Attack route is a bit special, but if you really want to know it, you might as well mail me during game. (I'm in the TA rankings for Hard right now, but I'll try to enter them all)

Nothing much left to report. I'm generally on Aries 3 or 4 (Aries 2 only around 11PM GTM) trying to do Ultimate runs, but it's not really working http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

The prizes do suck so far though.

Saffran, I'm looking at your maps so I can try to make some for PSOW. I have a few questions about your maps.

1. For your first Crater West map. What extra room does activating both switches unlock?

2. Where is the "Last Room" referenced on your Crater West maps?

3. How do you reach Crater Interior?

4. For the Crater Interior map, could you use some other means to specify what portals lead where? It is fairly obvious what warps you are supposed to use, but not the order.

5. Can your team split up so that one person goes to Desert 1, one to Desert 2, and 2 to Desert 3?

6. In Desert 1, what is the order of the warps for the purple route? Also, is there a switch to open up that orange door on the purple route?

7. Just how much time is given to you to clear this quest?

the last room is basically the final area where in a normal crater run you meet up with the dolphon and where the warp to crater interior is.

All right. Could someone post a brief map of the final room for Normal Crater? That way I'll know which room shape to use.

I'm not feeling too well so I'll let it at that for now:

>5. Can your team split up so that one person goes to Desert 1, one to Desert 2, and 2 to Desert 3?

I have been wondering teh same thing ever since the quest has been released.
Each of the Terminals only activate when "all players are here", meaning, in the same room as the computer. I have been wondering for a long time now if you could trick them if one character were to stand in front of each terminal.
The thing is, either no one tried or it doesn't work. If it were to work, the quest would have like 900 ennemies.

HOWEVER, the fact that killing "all" 567 ennemies in Ultimate is nigh on impossible, even for lv170 and up 4 player teams, makes me assume that splitting is impossible.

You have 30 minutes btw, not a second more, in any difficulty.

Discovered another trick to win time for Time Attack mode.

Ryna
Dec 23, 2005, 07:47 AM
Since I do not have the ability to play the quest, let me make sure I have the following correct:

-Pressing all the switches in Crater West unlocks an extra area in the last room and additional paths on Crater Interior.
-To go from Crater Interior to any of the other levels, all of the current team members must gather around a terminal to unlock a laser fence.
-In the final area (whatever it might be), everyone has to make it to a terminal at the end of the area

Also, I have a few other questions:
-What is the Rappy Reward quest like? Does it have a name? Could someone post some pictures of it?
-Does the max kills count depend on which Desert level you choose?
-Has anyone done an enemy counts?
-Which Desert area is the most popular?

Saffran
Dec 23, 2005, 08:29 AM
OK, 3 shots for starters:

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/9614/pso11345154464ru.jpg
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/3381/pso11345153678xz.jpg
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/6610/pso11345149816oc.jpg

First image is the description of the quest "The Beak's Cafe in the barren lands"
"The rappies have opened a very... strange... cafe."

Basically, the rappies abound in some room of Crater.
On the 2nd pic you can see the place that will open some times later this month.

On the first pic, you can see the roulette. It takes 10 tickets for each try.
4th prize: Scape Doll
3rd prize: Random Mat
2nd prize: Photon Drop
1st prize: Photon Crystal

Momoka says pretty funny things, and the rappies have a guru whom you can talk to. I laughed at that.

As for your questions:
-Yes.
-No, they must gather around the same Terminal, which will teleport them to another area. There are 3 terminals, so 3 destinations.
-Yes.
-Rappy Quest see above.
-Yes. The Desert 1 route gives like 510 ennemies, Desert 2 route has 567, Desert 3 route has 537 ennemies.
-I'm trying to recollect the spawns, but it's not as easy as it was for max attack 1.
-Desert 2 because it's straightforward, it has the most ennemies, it has no Girta and it gives 4 possibilities to shorten the route and touch the terminal if you run out of time.

Thank you for your continued cooperation Saffran. It is appreciated. I'm making decent progress on this Maximum Attack 3 guide.

I have a couple more questions before I can put everything together though:
1. On the first Crater West map, do you have to activate any switches to unlock the three rooms around the start area where E', F', and "To Last Room" are located?

2. Your first two images do not load for me. Could you fix the URLs? Also, could you take a picture of the Rappy roulette game? By the way, what is the English name for this quest?

Anyway.

Time Attack trick:

http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/7125/tricksmall8pu.jpg

The links have been fixed.
Yes, the twice drop rate only applies within MA3.
The fences near C', F', E' and D' are activated by the switches on the first map, I just don't know which opens which. The "to last room" fence you are referring to opens if both switches have been pressed (like the extra room in the last part)
The Rappy quest is called "arano no kuchibashitei" which means "The Beaks Cafe in the Barren Lands". I guess a good english name would be "The Beaks Cafe"

How does that time attack trick work? Can you step up on to the ramp from that position?

Saffran
Dec 26, 2005, 01:26 PM
I am standing between the fence and the border of the crater. From there you can just get on the platform and touch the teleport to Desert 2.

The trick is to activate the switch that enables going counterclockwise and then you can clear Crater Interior without killing a single ennemy.

Ryna
Dec 26, 2005, 02:19 PM
I have a couple of questions about the Reward quest:
1. Where do you teleport down at?
2. How do you exit?
3. Does the Rappy Guru give you anything? Typically you will receive some sort of reward based on how many points you've earned.

OMFG they changed the rappy quest today!!!

As far as I have heard from other players, females get the Wedding Dress and Males get the Tranvestite Plate.

Wedding Dress is said to have 70 Resistance to Light and Tranvestite supposedly has 70 EDK. This is so fucking incredible that I am accumulating tickets right now. I will try to get several Wedding dresses with my different chars and trade for a Tranvestite Plate.

OK, I did that quest.
The new roulette costs 20 tickets. It's a kind of puzzle game. It certainly helps to have the sound on btw.
You must guess a number between 123 and 987.
These numbers can't have the same digit at several places, ie there's no 111 or 242 or 866. Only 123, 145, 628, etc.
You have 5 tries to get the right number. Which probably means that there are 5 prizes.
If your guess entails one digit that is right AND at the right place, the Rappy will say Strike!
If your guess entails a digit that is right BUT NOT at the right place, he'll say Ball!
Example: let's say the answer is 123 and you said 321. The rappy will say "Strike 1, Ball 2" there is a visual help too when the roulette works, so you can guess which digit was right and which wasn't.

I tried once and failed 5 times.
I tried again and again failed 5 times.
I tried a last time and at my first guess I won!

Ba Buuta: 25

Second Area Ennemy Count: 129

Desert 2 Ennemy Count: 203
Goran: 42
Pyro: 40
Detonator: 3
Rappy: 23
Lizard: 16

I would need to record runs to get faster with this... Desert 1 looks miserable, and Desert 3 is only half done.

Saffran, does the Dress Plate have an effect associated with it? I'm lead to believe that it has a heart effect, but I would just like to confirm that.

Also, I got a chance to look at your reward quest images. I have a few questions about them.

1. Is that the Rappy Guru in 037oc.jpg? If so, what do the choices correspond to?
2. What is the significance of the rappy in 040lh.jpg?
3. In 093ct.jpg, is that the new roulette game? If so, do you still have the option of playing the original in Crater Interior?

EDIT: I updated the entry for the Dress Plate.

Happy New Year and all that...

>Saffran, does the Dress Plate have an effect associated with it?

Yes, the Heart effect.

>1. Is that the Rappy Guru in 037oc.jpg? If so, what do the choices correspond to?

They tell you that he will solve your problems. So you go to him and he solves 3 of your "supposed" problems. It's probably the funniest way Sega ever came up with to advertise their products.
First one says: "I stopped meeting my real friends ever since I started PSOBB"
Second one says: "I play a lot of online games and it's always a problem to pay all the many different fees"
Third one is: "I'm not sure I chose the right Class"

>2. What is the significance of the rappy in 040lh.jpg?

He says: "Don't take photos without asking for permission first" but I have yet to find a place that triggers something.

>3. In 093ct.jpg, is that the new roulette game? If so, do you still have the option of playing the original in Crater Interior?

Yeah, the old one is still at the usual place.

New Roulette:
Best prize is Dress Plate or Wedding Dress (unconfirmed if you can get several of them)
Then 3 Photon Crystals
Then 1 PD
Then 3 Mats
Then 1 Scape Doll

x5 drop rates have been activated!

If you win the special prize at the New Rappy Roulette again, you are rewarded with 10 Photon Crystals.

10 Photon Crystals? That is a very nice prize. Just how hard is it to earn that prize on the roulette?

Another question:
Where does the exit warp in Desert 3 lead to in the Rappy quest?

Found a Vivianne http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Roulette: there are 9*8*7 possible answers, so you need to be rather lucky to guess the right number on your first try.

Also, the item descriptions for Dress Plate, Wedding Dress, and Great Bouquet have been updated.

I got kicked out of the Time Attack ranking at the very last update... Curse them!!!!

The rappy quest has updated texts, and will stay one more week so that people can use up their lucky tickets.

Now to go buy out a Yunchang... to think that I couldn't play more than 3 hours during the whole of the 5x drops!

Oh, and the droprates for ep4 will probably change soon. (the Rappy Guru said so) I suppose the 1/37 droprate on Del Rappies in VH will be changed http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
