Not a whole lot of you have probably heard of this game, but it's made by a small German team... Here's a screenshot.

Now, about how big, in file size, would you expect a game that looks like that be? A few hundred megs, right?

...Try 95k.

Yes, there is a downloadable demo, that's about 98k or so. It comes with a readme...

But just from a technological standpoint, it's amazing how they fit the game in that small of a file, but it does make sense after you read on their site how it's done (several times, it's not in the greatest English). And it's the full package, too. Graphics, pixel shaders, several weapons, enemies, sounds, music...

Nothing short of inspiring, really.

Wow. That is amazing. The screenshots look really awesome, and I'd love to give this a try. Unfortunately, I can't seem to run the .exe file that comes in the zip. I suppose it's my crappy integrated graphics card that's preventing me from running it.

It certainly was worth the try. I just wish the sound could have been synthesized a little better. But, considering what it is and how it was done, that is pretty amazing. Put a couple on a floppy and take them to school!.. Where the computers fry from lack of graphics acclerator/memory/processor...

Yeah, the readme file in the zipped archive has some pretty high-end requirements for a file of that size. I'm really surprised at how they were able to put graphic, programming, and sound data into that file, to be recompiled during the loading screen. I mean, I've seen vector graphics before, but this is just nuts...

Haha... I'm going to download that file and stick it on a 5 1/4 disk and stick it in my "curiosities" cabinet.

Kinda makes you wonder just what in the hell we're fussing over HD-DVD and Blue-Ray in the first place for.

Random browsing out of boredom results in some interesting finds...

I find some interesting stuff on the net too when I'm bored and browsing - however I can't post any of that stuff since there's minors around, and it may violate certain state laws.

...Do we want to know what kind of interesting stuff you're finding? :/

...And yeah, Microsoft is making this technology available to Xbox 360 developers, to combat the lack of space relative to Sony's Blu-Ray.
