I found an old drawing of mine from art class. Tell me what you think of it.

Now.
Two questions. How old were you when you made this drawing?

Secondly, what are you really expecting people to say when you post this?

After you answer my questions I will tell you what I think.

Be honest.

This is when I first got into drawing. Two years ago.

This is really a doodle more than a drawing.

That didnt answer her question.

She wants to know your age.

I would focus on learning how to draw boxes using a vanishing point. Since 7th grade art class, I have been able to draw houses well. That's about it, though.

Honestly, I think raymaster first needs to learn how to draw three-dimensional shapes. Period. No vanishing point just yet. In my art classes from ages ago, I first remember being given a lecture on simple shapes like cubes and the like. Once we could do that (which, sorry, raymaster, you can't do very well), then we touched on vanishing points.

Here, I put this together. It is a cube without any vanishing points (it should have three). First try to replicate that then we'll talk about vanishing points, which help give these objects much more realistic looks.

EDIT: This is an outline of the "cube" that you drew. Stare at the two pictures, find the differences and try to replicate the "correct" one from above.

EDIT III:

Yeah, well, I went online and looked for a gamecube picture that I could outline which you can check out here (http://www.shanghaiist.com/attachments/shang_dan/special-gamecube.jpg). Here is a rough outline of what that specific gamecube's outline looks like:

I just looked at my gamecube, and it isnt much of an actual cube (a bit short in height), but it is close enough which I guess if why Nintendo went with the name http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif Anywho, this last outline can be used to go into the whole vanishing points (3) thing in the way that it would apply to your picture. I don't wanna explain that part just yet, but I do wanna throw the basic concept (errr picture) out there just so that you know what we might get into soon if you want us to.

EDIT IV: Some interesting links and pictures that I just quickly searched for (sorry if there are better, and I just know there has to be).

Anywho, I hope someone else like Kuda can come in here and school us on perspectives and vanishing points cause I've confused myself while trying to help you. I'm more lost now on the subject matter than I was when I first came into the thread. I knew I shoulda stopped with the first cube, seeing as how nobody ever tried to teach me how to work with more than just one vanishing point. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cry.gif
