This is part of what I am working on for a larger image. But with classes starting up again soon, I'm not sure how long it will be before I finish it, and this guy looks so cool, I just had to post it for now. So enjoy a nice natural pose of an underappreciated and noble predator of Ragol.

Ahhh..My mind is torn between how elegant it looks and how ugly it really is. Well done.

Really nice Ancient, reeks of hard work and oozes with style.

Though... don't wolves have longer snouts? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif

Then again, it is PSO.

I was basing it more off the original concept art for PSO than the actual polygon models. The original concept had them looking a bit more feline, with a shorter snout and a bit more muscular look. I'm not overly fond of the in-game look of the Savage Wolf. Like the Dragon Slayer Sword I consider it something that looks absolutly incredible on paper (example: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/MSD3000/dragonslayer.jpg ), but just didnt come across right in the game.
But then fanart really isnt about drawing exactly what you see anyway, its about showing how your imagination interpretes it.

fantastic, It really makes you look at the creature in a different light. Sometimes you don't realize how cool an enemies design really is until you see something like this. Plus, I'm always playing on ultimate mode... So I never see wolves anymore....I miss normal mode enemies.... =o

Feel free to color it if you'd like. I'd like to see what other people can do with it.

Stickied for unfinished awesomeness, and to remind Ancient to finish it so I can add it to the gallery.

I really like this picture Ancient. It gives it a noble look that you wouldn't expect from the actual monster.

I love the line work. I've always been envious of your style of linework. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

cheers

I really like the way you manage to give hairy textures on your sketches! very nice work, I think this image can be pinned up if you add a cute female PSO character lying next to the 'wolf, you know, like she was an ARK

If you manage to do a vertor version of that (the wolf + a cute girl) I would humble request for permision to coloring it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Actually I did mean to add another character in with mr wolf. Originally it was meant to be a fonewm in a very similar pose as my, yet unfinished contest peice. Perhaps I'll finish up that idea at a later date. In the meantime, I've put a little bit more time into coloring mr wolf by himself. This still isnt finished but its closer. And feel all guilty for having this sticky up here all this time without an update. He's actually a pretty hard guy to shade dynamically for some reason. No matter what I do he never feels right to me.

Yes guilt trips are the best way to get me to do anything. Its my one super weakness. Well...that and jelly donuts.

Actually you could just take this sticky down and send me some Jelly Donuts and I'd be all set to get some work done!

Jared_T's twin brother used to do the same thing, by using Jared's unfinished artwork as his desktop wall paper. Tis where the idea came from.

All right, this is long enough, I think. I'm gonna unsticky this. Ancient, is this thing ready to add to the gallery, or are you going to do something else with it?

Ancient

You can stick it in the gallery for the moment if you'd like. Because the finished image wont be forthcoming untill the summer most likely. Its funny that being an illustration major doesnt give you time to draw.
