*Opens Door* Hi honey, How was your day at Work!

Splended dear...

Good god. Working at Gamestop is fun, but man we have some REALLY anoying kids come in.

Today some little shit came in today for about... An hour and a half, played our demo units all during that time... dragged in mud, gave me an attitude, and didnt buy shit. And he does this like twice a week heh. I'd kick the kid out but... geez.. I dont really care, im too laZy to give somone shit.

Ah, and then there was the kid who said him and his friend were in the Guiness Book of World records for playing the most videogames...

Heh, and then theres the Local Suburban White Boy Ebonics Speaking 12 year old who I kindly named Snoop. Ever see a kid like that come in, hand over the counter yellin out "What up My nigga, howz the biznass, biznazzz..".... wtf. No.

Ah, kids say the darnest things...

One old guy crapped his pants and I made one of the girls go clean it up. Then I instigated a cane fight between the two rivals for oldest hag. Have you ever seen a cane-fight at Gamestop? No. And I want a divorce. And where's my dinner? I said I wanted tuna-casorole.

Cube: Why buy the game when you could play the demo of it for an hour and a half?

I didn't have to work yesterday nor do I have to work today, due to a late schedule change I now have to work tomorrow ,Thursday, from open (9AM) to 3:30PM, I need the money badly, I mean it's gonna be hard to feed my game and anime addiction.

Anyway... usually at work I get atleast 1 or 10 different people...

1) Person pays for $5 or less worth of items with a $100 bill.
2) Person comes in and buys many items and tries to give us a debit card, which we do not accept.
3) Person(s) want different sets of items on different bills.
4) Person(s) with 2+ karts full of items X_x
5) Person that comes in right before closing and takes their sweet ass time.
6) Person writes check with red ink, which we do not like (because we use red pens to write DL#, birthdate and store # on the check)
7) Person buys a few items and forgets one of them, only to return later acting like it's my fault they forgot their stuff.
http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cool.gif Person pays for items with check and cash mixture (really annoys me because I have to type up the cash then do the check, which makes others in line have to wait)
9) Kid comes in to buy something he cannot, such as medicens or lighters.
10) Person cannot pay for all the stuff they wanted so I have to call one of the key holders to come up and take off some items.

How was your day at work?...

Ok, lets see...

1. Writing help pages...this is possibly the second most boring task in the entire world.
2. Constantly being assailed by phone calls and e-mails by people because the system is not working only upon talking to them to discover that they have put in the data wrong.
3. Constant new suggestions for improvements and/or upgrades.

However I admit its a far cry from the previous replys...damn that didn't sound fun, makes what I do almost sound interesting...almost...

I was supposed to go in yesterday, but my sister called me at 6:30pm when I was about to goto sleep, and I had just eaten a plate of spaghetti. I knew I was going to be sick as hell when I woke up, so I told her I'd go thursday and get all the work done.

I think Spy had the best day out of everyone..a cane fight. Too bad it's those lame metal canes and not the nice hardwooded ones like my grandma used to have. When you get one of those slammed against you, by God, you feel it. =X

There was a shoplifter who was high on cocaine...the security guards had a bitch of a time taking him down.

He started calling for help when he was being handcuff...

Then we played baseball with the hooks used to get clothes off the unreachable racks and the bandannas. One employee hit another employee who was ringing up a customer in another department.

Actually, all you have to do is put up a sign that reads "15 minutes at a time" that way he can only play for 15 minutes and then has to leave. =)

..or you could be nice and maybe he's just poor, and..the more he's in playing the game the less likely he is to hold you up for an X-box and the game to take home =O

Eh, I only play games in stores if they look really interesting or I've heard of them, and most of the time they have the kiosks playing some football game, so I can say I don't play games in stores too often, but I did play StarFox Adventures in the local K-Mart for a whole five minutes...

But you should put up a 15 minute sign in there, or do like they used to in Toyr 'R' Us and rig the things to reset after 15 minutes. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

For the time being I'm running my parent's Hobby Store. I always get the crazed little kids coming in saying, "OOhhh look at that. Can we buy that?" Then runs to the other side of the store grabs somthing runs to their parents, "Can I have this?" They thenproceed to drop it on the floor or put it on the closest shelf. Then they see the train layout, "Can you run the trains?" I normally would on a good day but it's not working properly now. If it's not the kids then it's the boredom. Some days almost nobody comes in. How well. I'm 26, and an out of work animator/graphics designer. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I agree with Dangerous55 on the topic of annoying little white boys who try to act ghetto and all that. Now I'm white, and find a lot of black kids cooler then I could ever be (ALL HAIL ME, FOR I AM CAPTAIN NERD!) but when one of my white friends goes "Sup yo homie G!" I cringe. Only blacks can talk like that and sound good doing it.

I don't mean to offend anyone who is black, I respect all races and the way they speak.

As for blacks acting white. Being white, I don't know of anything that would be considered the same as the type of talking we're discussing.

And back to the topic at hand. The only job I have is occasionally mowing the lawn. Ah sweet freedom.

On a customer point of view, I also hate the kids who come in just to play the demos. Back some months ago there was a game on display that I wanted to try out. There was a kid in front of me playing it. He knew I was there. But he held on to his controller even if he restarted the game several times and was a true idiot at playing the game. After twenty minutes of waiting, his dad came to pick him up, and yessir ohmygodwhatthefuck, the kid decided to scream and cry because he couldn't play anymore.

Haha, sucker!!

Forgive the slight off topicness of this, but have you ever had a little brat press the reset button on you? I had, just a minute after getting my hands on the controller and playing, some little SOB come up and hit reset. I nearly knocked him out. It sucks too when they don't give up the controller even after the game resets itself. Where are the parents? Ok I'm done.

Where do the middle eastern people fall? Hmm, never really thought of it until you said it, I got nothing against them, one of my friends is middle eastern.

Ill get going on every minority:

Asians, nothing against them at all.
Inuits, nope, nothing agaisnt them either.
Native Americans, Nothing against them.
Latinos, nope, nothing against them.

I was wondering if you were mad at just someone acting black(speach, dress, etc) or if someone acting like anything they "aren't" annoys you.

You know that everyone has different styles and it all depends on what they feel comfortable with and who they are around.

Kinda like dialect. If you hang around someone with a strong southern accent, you might start having the accent a bit without realising it.

So I'm not sure how you can be mad at a white person "acting black" when to them it might just be natural. I mean, everyone is different, so you're kinda mad at them for just being themselves. Thus, hypocritical.

I used to have three friends who were brothers. They constantly fought over the DEMO of Tony Hawk. The first one. Whenever one would manage to wrestle the controller away, the other would take the other one and press A+B+X+Y+START to reset the game on the other. One fight lasted 10 minutes nonstop. It was downright scary... -.-;

And how exactly do you describe "acting white?" Inform us, please.

Are you so overtaken by stereotypes that you think all white people need to "act white" and all black people need to "act black?"

I know plenty of white people who "act black" and plenty of black people who don't, but instead act just the opposite (which you might call "acting white," I don't know).

Well my work life just seems to be getting more stressful by the week.

I work in a night club colleceting glasses, carrying stock about and moving barrels of beer about(normally carrying them up three flights of stairs and that hurts!). Im just gald i work only fridays and saturday nights

But what gets on my nerves there is the inconsiderate-ness of some people. You ever tried to carry a tower of glasses (pints and half pints) about for 10 minutes at a time? Its not very comfortable. So you would think people would move out the way for you? WRONG! People dont care if your arm is about to break off, they will just stand there. You say excuse me, they give you a look and slowly move away, if your lucky. I had one person ask me why i wanted them to move. X-rated language and sarcasm for that person.

And people also vandilise stuff for no reason. Its so hard for people to take a used glass off the dance floor and put it on a table, that they just drop it on the floor and smash it. Then they destroy the chairs and tables and leave everything in a disgusting state.

Dont let me get started on the vomit...

Well, thats my nice little rant about inconsiderate patrons of my workplace. I just cant wait intil i finish college and can get into a computing job!

No, I just said your day wasn't bad. =o

My day yesterday was pretty good. Got up at 1:30am, got a shower, ate, got sick afew times, sister came at 6:30am to write two contracts, finished them by 7:30am, got to the new facility at 8:30am(an hour drive), got settled in. Met the administrator of the nursing home facility, went back to our office in the nursing home therapy department, met Dave, the local COTA. Joked around with him, got him up to speed with everything, took a list for any supplies he needed. Then Marsha(a co-worker from another facility for speech therapy) showed up for the day. Heard about how she had food poisoning over the weekend, and the steroids they gave her, now her feet are numb. Joked with her, made some copies when they needed them. Then went out for a second-hand smoke break with my sister, met two other employees who came out for a break. Then it started a flash thunderstorm, power went out twice, and since it was coming down pretty hard my sister and I just sat in there talking to Marsha. Talked about who we could get as a Physical Therapist to work at the new facility by monday, and some other aids who would be able to come in.

Then we finally left, got some KFC, got to my sisters at 1pm, did some more work as we ate, then she left for a doctor's appointment and I laid down.

Go me!

..and now today I have work to do at home, whee.
