That's just insane.

Shame on you Toronto Raptors for not even trying to stop the guy. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I thought his 62 point game in only three quarters was crazy, then this happens?!

And yeah, it didn't seem to be on national TV either. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

eighty-one points is honestly unbelievable. thats what happens when your team sucks and you shoot an unbelievable amount of times, [edit] and you are an amazing player. kobe has skills, i just dont like his game or his attitude.

I also think he can have a bad attitude and demeanor at times.

There have been games where he has elbowed Mike Bibby in the nose, threw punches at (and was hit by) Chris Childs and Reggie Miller.

There was the court case, investigation, Shaq drama, Karl Malone drama, elbowing Mike Miller (on purpose) and Dirk Nowitzki (who knows) this year. Supposed locker room arguements with Lamar Odom, Phil Jackson's book, Shaq's unwillingness to acknowledge him for a while, etc.

Basically all kinds of stuff that doesn't happen with many players in the league.

But I think everyone is shocked that he scored 81 points. You really can't imagine someone doing that in this day and age.

Michael Jordan never did it, and Wilt was years ahead of his competition.

An editor at slam summed it up:

But come on man… this is more than just best in the league or even who’s the best ever arguments. You just don’t do that in the NBA. I don’t care if it was the Raptors, if he’s shooting too much and not getting his teammates involved, if he’s still hard to cheer for. That was impossible. Nobody is that good. WOW!

Allen Iverson hasn't done this no matter how bad his teams have been.

Heck Kobe Bryant has another record people might not know about, making 12 3 point shots in a game- some years back.

He's just having an incredible year as an individual, and why not just say wow, he's accomplishing these feats? Why try to draw a connection to his play with other things such as his team's win record or whatever?

But no use trying to change people's minds if the person in question himself can't do it, no matter what he does or says.

Okay, just so i can sleep tonight.

Mr. Bryant was an asshole in high school, as many young men are. The trouble is, he's no longer in high school, and he still behaves like a 17 year-old. That's why he's not welcome in his hometown.

But basically what has been said here is true. He's a tremendous individual talent, a phenom if you will, and one of the world's most grandiose egos, which has no place team sports.

Was that more of a rant? I'm going to bed now.

Wow. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm not from Philly or anything and will never understand its fans, booing Santa Claus, tisk tisk.
I've never heard of that being the reason why he's not welcome at home or even ever heard that he is not welcome at home. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Yeah that All Star game in Philly, where he was the MVP, they booed him.

So the story goes, he walked towards the locker room tears in his eyes and said to a Slam columnist:

"Scoop, what the fuck, man?"

I'm not gonna say he's some saint or anything, but people are allowed to fail and learn from their mistakes and he seems like a person who takes care of his family even though he had a father who was a real distant type of guy.

Yeah, I know how making loads of cash and touring cities every night makes you a target for anyone and everyone- for any reason, but hey. This topic wasn't even about his character as a person. Kapeesh?
