I'm using this banner for something and need some good feedback on how it looks, suggestions to maybe blend it a bit better, or anything else to make it look good. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

The left side seems more clear then the rest of the banner.

Maybe add a little blur effect to it to match the rest of it alittle more.

It seems quite off balance from a purely design point of view. The whole left side of the banner is basically negative space, and while that can sometimes be effective, it isn't really in this case. If you still have the .psd file (or whatever you save it as--as long as it's got layers) I'd suggest moving the text up into the sky, so there's at least something occupying all that dead space.

Also, I'd move Girlie down a little. She appears monstrously tall since her head goes all the way up to the top of that building.

Edit-- One more thing. You may want to consider changing the font entirely. It looks from the pictures you used and how they're arranged that you're going for a sort of noble look... unfortunately, that font doesn't really convey noble. Seems more like something that would be used in a cheap Sunday paper ad for a local store that sells party supplies, heh. There are a lot of cool free fonts you can download from the internet, so maybe try looking for "free fonts" on Google or something.

There is stuff that occupies that space, as not part of the image, and yeah that font will probably be removed.

If those are screenshots, I would highly suggest recapturing with anti-alias enabled. It is a bit nitpicky, but, smooth lines would definitely help. You could also try adding a minute blur to the edge, but anti-alias could essentially do the same and have a cleaner look to it.

I believe possibly a "Celtic" font scheme could make the fantasy feel even stronger. An English script font could also work nicely but I would stay away from anything too overtly, hmm, curvy? Now that I think about it, a font in similar style to the German caligraphy would match as well. In all, look for an archaic font as I think that would match the overall feel of the banner best.

Thanks I'll take a look at that.

By the way, that's what fills the other side up:
