I have a question regarding search engines and sites.

Ive tried using google to find my site so i can tell whether people who havent been told about it can find it via the engine. Using several keywords exclusive to my site, i only get 4 matches, none of them being mine.

Is there any way to make it so that search engines can pick up my site?

Use the title page, see how this site is "PSO World" in the upper lefthand corner?

Nah i've tried that, the keywords are featured in my title page anyway.

Maybe your page isn't registered on a search engine. Or it might not be published.

Sort of an on-topic question, and something i've been wondering about:

does it cost anything to register with search engines?

It can, it depends on how high the priority of your site is.

Google is free, i think, but when i registered with altavista and yahoo they had free registers and paid registers. the free ones they do at their own pace, the paid ones they do almost immediately. if i recall correctly, you can expect to wait 6 weeks for yahoo to validate it.

and then there's the prospect of a possible rejection on top of that http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif,.
hope this helps.
