I'm seemingly finished with a rubik's cube...or so I had hoped.

I followed some instructions, only to find three edge pieces not correct.

So I'd like anyone who's solved one, and can solve one to inform me here.

I have 3 sides completed. The opposite sides of the cube, and obviously one connecting them. So if you made a big C with your hand, and fit a cube in there, your hand would be on the completed sides.

Now, the other three sides have 8 colors correct on their corresponding sides, with one on the middle edge wrong.

Heres where it gets a bit tricky.

Now, lets assume you're holding the cube (in the C we had), and the colors go as follows:

Blue- Your thumb is here, its the bottom

White- Your palm is here, its one of the connected, completed sides

Yellow- Your fingers are here, its the top

Orange- It's looking at you if you are holding the cube in your right hand. It has RED on the top middle edge; next to the yellow.

Green- It's opposite your palm. So its facing your left. It has ORANGE on the top middle edge; also next to yellow.

and finally; Red- Opposite side, facing away from you. It has GREEN on top middle edge;also next to yellow.

Follow me? If not, please reread and draw it out if necessary.

So, lets say blue is irrelevant, its on the bottom. Yellow is completed, its on the top. White is completed, its on the side. Three other sides are NOT completed, only differing by one small cube.

Now, if I assume this right, shouldn't there be a single cube wrong on the white side for this to be solvable? I read something about, how if it was reassembled wrong, its because an odd number of cubes were changed, in this case, 3.

I'd like to know whether or not it's solvable at this point, so I can tear it apart and place them where they belong, or continue trying to solve it.

I appreciate whoever read this whole thing, and even if you don't have an answer, please reply to this so I at least know this is worth anyone's time, and someone who may actually have an answer.

Thanks!

Heh I finally got around to mesmerizing all the moves to 2 different sets of solutions that will solve the cube 100% of the time. The easiest of which is probably this:

Or you can pull it apart and put it together again. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Only if you're really frustrated.
