Layout opinion

This thing is bugging me and need a new look to help with this so i'm asking for opinion and suggestions.

Any help suggestion or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

It's a bit dark and lacking in contrast.

I suppose lack of contrast isnt so bad if you want the actual art to be hosted on it to be the main focus. I think in that respect it should work well like like it is, its interesting but not enough to take away from what ever images you'll be displaying. I imagine the background to the page will be a black, or dark blue/purple color as opposed to the white around it at the moment.

The lack of contrast was so that my images like my 3d models and particle effect stand out more.

The background will be probably a dark purple.

But I still feel as if something is lacking but just don't know what >_>
