Hey folks. Since my cancellation of my HL, I've been channeling my PSO withdrawl by trying to make a SD figure of my character.

Here's the progress I have on him so far.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2403/1264/1600/IMG_3247.jpg
The details aren't super accurate since I'm basing them from SHRINE's rendition of the FOmar. And I like what she's done with them. (though my FOmar is in the dark green design and is holding an ancient saber).

http://www.yhidemi.com/pso/psogc_cg/gc027.html
I've always admired her work. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Though I'm a bit stumped on the little peak I've made on the center bottom of the hat. It looks a bit silly in 3D form. And thinking on her drawing, I'm wondering if I thought there's a "peak" cause of the angle she's drawing it at. Does it look silly to you guys?
I'm still have lots of work for this guy. His sleeves, section ID holder, mag, hair bangs, etc.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

That is all kinds of cool!

About the hat: I think it's a fold going out to the front (not down to the face). If you don't like it, don't do it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

What i'm personally wondering, is what you're using for supplies to making this. It looks awesome, and somewhat inspiring, if I had that kind of skill. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Thanks guys. Hmm... I guess I'll just remove it then. Some how it looks less like a Fomar with that sticking out.

As for supplies, I basically use Magic Sculpt's putty (the grey stuff). It's a 1:1 ratio, air dry putty that's safe to use with your hands. And I also mix in a 1:1 ratio of Super Fine white milliput into the magic sculpt for the edges cause it'll help keep sharp details.
And lots of sanding to keep things uniform and smooth.
The red's stuff is Bondo's red spot putty. It's used for hair line fractures and small/shallow pits.

This little guy (about 4 inches tall) comes in several parts cause I want the option to swap out costume colors/details and hair/hat assessories.

When I'm actually done with this project, we'll just have to see.

Though when I am done with this perticular costume combo, I intend to work on a pair of Vulcans and the hat with 2 dangling bell-like assessories (my actual character's costume). But I couldn't start sculpting those cause of the lack of reference pics. Could someone help me out with a detailed back and side shot of the hat and perhaps the vulcan guns?
Or some kind of cool rendition of what the hat could look like from the back? Most pics I have are always front shots.
Here's an example.
http://earthgale.ram.ne.jp/DATA/PSOBB/GIF/CHAR1.JPG

I basically need a side shot as well to help me eye ball how far the hat sags or not. They're kinda perkey compared to the Fonewearls's and Fonewman's bouncy hats.

Thanks for any help!

I may have some somewhere... I'm a PSOBB screenshot whore. If I don't have any, I can take some for you. I'll have to check when I get home from class, though. -_-;;

I couldn't get any good shots of my FOmar's mechs, but I got a couple decent shots of the hat you want. I felt so horrible giving Lucius short hair, though, even if it was just for a couple minutes to take these. >.<;;

On the up side, he looks like Howl from Howl's Moving Castle with his hair like that...

Anyway, reference pics! I didn't crop them, in case the mechguns are of any use to you.

I could have sworn I got better side view ones, but I guess not. -_-

Wow! Thanks a bunch ladyjaderiver!
Those pics are thankfully large enough to make out the shape and details. I was worried that the screenshots would just be little pics from DC days.
lol.

And takeing a closer look at this hat now, it kinda looks strange now that I think about it. But lookes cute zoomed out.

I'm definately going to work on this one! I want my cute hat damit!
http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

But for now, I must finish what I've already started....
Taking a closer look at the game graphix version of the hat, I could see the differences SHRINE and I did compared to this pic.

I'll have to see how I should fix things. I really don't want to rework the hat all that much. I've got other parts of him to worry about.
Like his darn inner skirt. I made the mistake of making the outer skirt before the inner one. Now it's going to be tricky skulpting around the darn thing. I wanna avoid cutting it up, but may not have a choice.

No, I have my pictures set to be at 800x600, because I collect them. >.> I have about 1600 at the moment. If anyone else ever needs reference pics of HUmars, FOmars, FOmarls, or FOnewearls, I'll happily supply pictures. Or, if you're on BB and would like reference pics of your character, I'm good at getting closeups of other players, too.

-_- No. I've been playing since May or so last year, but my highest level character on BB is 53. I just take a TON of screenshots every time I play.

chibiLegolas, since you don't seem to know, her name is SHINE, not SHRINE. >_>;

Cute action figure, though! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Oops. Thanks for the correction Eihwaz. She hasn't posted in awhile, so my memory's a bit fuzzy. That and I'm not good with memorizing names.

Anyways, here's a small update on my progress. I've finished the upper sleeves and are now currently working on the lower half. Just waiting for it to cure so I can chop away till I get the right shape. I also got rid of that "peak" on his hat. I just gotta flesh out the details in that area a bit more.
