Yeah, I feel stupid as hell for asking this, but since I DON'T have any idea how broadband works, I was wondering:

-Do you have to buy BOTH the modem AND the Broadband to use the broadband?

-Do you connect the GC broadband to the computer, or TV? (god that sounds so dumb)

-If you do need to hook it up to the comp, do you need audio/video inputs?! Cuz if so, I don't think my comp has 'em

Answers would be greatly appreciated, as well as succeed in making make feel stupid... thanks >.<

If you wish to use broadband, you only need the BBA.

If you wish to use the modem(56k over a normal phone line), then thats all you need as well.

They are the same thing, modems. One is for broadband such as cable and DSL connections, the other is for low-bandwith users who only have dial-up.

You connect the GC broadband directly to the connection I beleive. For me, I have a cable modem, so I'd take the ethernet connection from my cable modem out of my comp(unless I went out and bought a router) and then plug the ethernet port into the BBA.

If you bought a VGA adapter for the GC, it would come with the ports needed for your speakers just like the DC VGA adapter I beleive.

You won't need audio jacks for the BBA.

Dam that was a quick move hehe...ok...what Abdur says is right but if like me you already have broadband, dsl on your computer, there is a good chance you have an external modem provided by your ISP.The cable from your PC that goes into your modem right now,you just unplug that from the modem and you will need to buy another cable and plug that in it's place in the modem and the other end,of course in the GC BBA.(that's if you don't want to unplug both ends of the cable you have now from the inside of your PC everytime you want to play online with the GC.)

'Cable or DSL modem' connects to 'Gamecube Broadband adapter' connects to GameCube

No. Broadband is just the internet connection. Audio and video are separate.

Bleh. So this means I'd have to have a Cable/DSL connection in my home in order to use the BBA? Stab me >.<

...whats the point of having a BBA if you don't have broadband? O_o

Because you sound more advanced, maybe? Or so they can not blame you for lagging even if you are?

I do not know, I am trying to figure it out right now...

And yes, I will.

Well I'm trying to think...back on the DC, was it even possible to use a BBA if you did'nt actually have broadband? I can't think of any benefit it would give you =

The BBA for the GC is entirely different than the modem..you choose one that you can actually use(56k modem for dial-up, BBA for broadband users)..I don't think they're interchangable.

*goes off to find someone who might have used BBA for DC*

You could probably route a computer dialup connection through a computer ethernet network card and the gamecube BBA. watashiwa did that on DC PSO =>_>=;;;;;

cable from wall goes into cable modem. Ethernet cable from modem goes to router. ethernet cables from router go into network card in comp and bba in gc.
