'Cuz I sure do. I started playing right after Christmas, when I used my giftcards towards a slimline PS2, DDRMax, and a RedOctane Ignition pad. I think I've progressed pretty fast for 3 months, because this past weekend I cleared my first 10 footer, Sakura (got a B if anyone cares).

Anyway, I'd like to restart a good ddr topic that I remember being in Off-Topic a long time ago, must've been like 2 years snce then. Anyone who plays or would like to share something about ddr can feel free to post. Peace out http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif.

I don't do it as much as I should. I'm too shy to go to the DDR machines at the mall, but I play at home. I only have a couple of the older playstation ones, but I mostly use DDRMAX for ps2. Lotsa good stuff on there.

I can't push myself as hard as I can though, because I have weak knees, and the potential for them popping out of place is NO good. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif Keeps me out of most of the Maniac/Expert songs, and in Standard. Boo.

Yay Maridia http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif! I was worried that I'd be a loner here.

As far as the arcade goes, I myself only went once, and that was immediatly after school when no one would be there to see me play http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif. I'm shy as well.

Not going all-out is definently understandable. When I first started my knees would hurt like hell, but I guess I've either gotten used to it or my knees have improved from playing more. If you can play on Standard, there are definently a few songs in Heavy that I'm sure you could clear. 5.1.1. and I like to Move It are 2 easier ones I can think of on Max.

Keep on DDR'ing http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif.

Man, it's been a good deal of time since I've played DDR frequently. I used to be able to score well on a lot of the more difficult singles songs, but have probably lost a good amount of that speed in my inactivity.

I've gotten a bit more into Doubles for the past year or so, it was a nice break from the norm, and gives a different kind of challenge then simply trying to move faster. It can be fun, challenging, and not break my legs from going 70 miles an hour.

As such it's nice that In The Groove machines sometimes only take one credit for Doubles play.

I give a lot of respect to people who play doubles. I've tried a few times, but it was confusing because of the unique jumps. Plus, moving across 2 pads can really make you lose your way.

There are a few select songs that are absurd on doubles. I saw a video of an attempt at MaxX Unlimited doubles once. Needless to say, it appeared to be humanly impossible http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif.

I play when I can and get enough motivation.

The only thing that bothers me right now and is preventing me from pregressing is 8th notes and jumps that aren't opposite (such as <v, <^, >v, and >^). Anyone know any songs that are good for practicing these on in DDRMax or DDRExtreme 2 (PS2 home versions)?

Glad to see you post Ketchup, I thought maybe you would, since you go to ddrfreak too.

For your corner-jump question, I could only think of songs from Max, since I don't have Max2 myself. 3 songs I thought of are:

- Paranoia Evolution (Standard)
- Rhythm and Police (Standard)
- Stomp to My Beat (Standard)

R&P is probably the best out of those 3, plus it has a lot of 8ths, which is perfect for the other thing you're working on. I'll find more if you need 'em. Good luck.

I had forgotten about R&P being big on the jumps. I think I should try to beat it on Light first, as I need some speed before moving up. I'll look at the others too.

Double mode really isn't that tough. If your good at single, just devote a week or two to solely working on cross-overs/footwork. I've played DDR for 3+ years, and the last few months I took up double mode. Already getting A's and B's on double heavy (best would have to be an A on Healing Vision (Angelic Mix), heavy of course)

Hmm, it always had looked challenging. I would consider trying it seriously but I need to get another pad to even play http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif.

Am I the only one who doesn't like it, and would like to avoid it anytime I can? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif
I feel like a freak now.

Ooh ooh! Me me! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I miss arcades...I play at home but since so many places are "forbidden" (or as of right now) where there are arcades for my parents, it's hard to go to one nowadays http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif So all I have are PS2 versions (all 4 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif)

I'm gonna play soon xD I have to start playing again...

Yeah, at least you have all the mixes for PS2. I only have 2, so my song choices are kind of limited, but I recently ordered an Extreme JP import. I can't wait for it to arrive, it has 8 10-footers!

Have fun starting again Oni http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif (is your name just a coincidence with ddr?).

Nah xD It's a long story, but I'll avoid it to get off-topic xD;;

There are actually some different songs in the newer mixes (some bad, like Brittney Spear's Oops! I did it again, and some are really good, such as DDREx2's Polotsvian Dances and Chorus) So it's fun to do them all http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

LOL. I play it although it's been a little while since I've put any time into it.. I've been nervous about doing anything too strenuous since just having the baby, but it's been 3 months, so I think it's high time I started again.

I was never really good at it, as I'm overweight and have bad knees. I don't get past Light mode often.
I feel so out of place in this topic though.. I only have Ultramix 1 and 2 for Xbox. WIll get 3 soon, too.

And I have Karaoke Revolution and KR Party, too. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Singing and Dancing is harder than Doubles.
