(I know this movie takes a while to D/L but it is worth it)

Pretty much what it is about is a bunch of people were having a memorial for some one that had died in real life on the Illidan server(PvP). They told the forums that anyone was invited to come to the memorial. Even some Alliance people showed up.

By the time the memorial came around it turns out that an Alliance raid group decide to drop in and kill everyone there. Of course this was not the nicest thing to do but some people say that the people holding the memorial deserved it.

What do you think?

How do people deserve to be killed over holding a memorial?

But this isn't like a real funeral and people showing up to murder other people.

Just a game where this type of action is allowed but frowned upon.

What did the player die from exactly?

This is why they said they deserved what happened to them. Some say it was thier fault for even telling the forums and holding the memorial in a "Contested" area (They held it near the lake because it was an area where the player liked to fish and she said it had always been able to calm her down).

Also I have no idea how the acctual player died.

PvP server + Alliance Noobs + Horde invitation = Honor Kill fest. Even if some Alliance players didn't like the killing, there was nothing they could do about it except tell them to stop. Besides, it's only a game. Whatever happened during that memorial should only revive the memories of the battlegrounds, right?

So they're not allowed to say we're holding a memorial for a deceased individual, everyone is invited, because its a public area?

I'm never going to play WOW after learning about all these horror stories.

Deserved is not the word for explaining their actions for this. People showing up because they know its a big gathering and saying LOL WE KILLED YOU is really unjustifiable and shows a lack of respect or decency I'd say.

I think there's a reason open PvP is bad in online RPG-type games.

It's not completely open PvP, and they have PvE servers up as well, as I believe someone else mentioned.

I'm sort of torn on this. I think it's really cool that they held a funeral for a friend, but hahaha, I had to laugh at Alliance coming and killing them. And people act like the Horde is the only one with gankers.

If they were holding a memorial and did'nt want outside interference, they should have been in their own territory so the majority would'nt have been effected.

Yeah, nice that they held a memorial, but obviously something is going to go wrong if people are given the chance to take advantage of a situation.

Well it's pretty much like i explain to everyone in the game of WoW everyone automaticlly assume's that the horde or the bad guys and alliance are the good guys what a sterotype http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif all that we horde ever wanted was to be allowed to roam free in the world the alliance always gank us in groups because we are the superior race & and attack are lower level bases such as camp Grom gol,the Night Elf is the worst of all because they always run and hide. but wait until are new ally the Blood Elf arrive's then they shall see. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_evil.gif But no one a serious level i understand where they where coming from but that should have took into consideration that the majority of high levels atleast alliance players are @#$hole's http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif and if they would have just held this event in horde territory then they could not have been attacked unless someone attacked the alliance characters first.

I'm riding both lanes.

The Alliance members were asses to do that during a memorial. I mean..Damn, even though its just a game and they were wide open for attack, have a fhkn heart.

On the other hand...The people who held the memorial shoulda saw it coming. You're holding a personal event, in a public area, on the internet. DUH, some people are gunna go out of thier way just to make the memorial a failure. its the INTER-FREAKING-NET. They shoulda brought along some bodyguards or SOMETHING. Or they coulda just held the event in a private area, even though where they did hold it had a special place in the person's heart.

Either way. Oh well, shit happens, thats the breaks.

Haha.

It's like holding a funeral for a KKK member in the middle of a ghetto. I say they got what was coming to them. The n00bs should've stuck to their own territory.

Bad taste? Lack of respect? No Human Decency? Sounds like someone should have rolled RP/PvE.

Some people seem to think that when a video game allows you to interact with other people, it suddenly stops being just a video game.

But, on the flip side, some people also fail to realize (or just completely ignore) that when a video game allows you to interact with other people, there are certain standards of etiquette that need to be followed.

Well, I stop when people are broken down on the side of the road and try to offer assistance, but I'll also gank the shit out of lowbies too, and /point and /laugh at them when they cry about it. Where exactly would that put me on the moral scale?

I dont know that a question that you have to answer,if thats the case then you may have good moroles and dont take this the wrong way but are just a jerk or @#$hole http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif yea i understand that if you dont like being ganked go to a P vs E or RP server but,at the same time what kind of a loser lv 60 will go camp and slay like level 20's in my opinion those are the characters who are smart enough to relize they cant hang with the big boys so they go and try to be a big fish in a small pond rather then stay a guppy in the ocean http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif
