View Full Version : 10th March Update [ Neudaiz / Moatoob ]

Lovejuice
Mar 10, 2006, 06:27 AM
Similar to last week's update on The Guardians' Colony and Parum, this week's update on the official site adds more visual lovelyness, this time from the lands of Neudaiz and Moatoob. The Japanese text also seems to be updated, so I'm sure that our wonderful squad of talented translators can get stuck in at some point (I'm not 100% sure on the exact newness of each image on the 'third' info page of each section, so everything's linked).

There are also no 'Bonus' images that I can find, this week. Boo.

I still cant get over how big these places are! I love Moatoob, very western and futuristic at the same time.
Im going to show my age here ^_^ but it reminds me of that old cartoon Bravestar.

It could be that alot of that space you see can not be reached Pseudo. Remember halo 2 and the orginal PSO city lobby...
Also Lovejuice is there a bigger version of you videogame console character sig. It looks pertty cool.

Let's see. We've got Ohtoku City and the Mizuraki Preserve for Neudaiz and Daguora City and the Gallenigalé Canyon for Moatoob. Unfortunately, I have to be heading off for work very soon, so I won't be able to do my translations until I get home later this evening.

Thanks for the images LoveJuice.

We've seen a few of these images in previous Famitsu updates. Still, it is nice to see them at higher resolutions.

Those Canyon pictures from Moatoob definitely give me an Episode 4 vibe. Of course, I just image that is just due to the desert motif.

Once EspioKaos finishes his translations, I'll put together a front page news story.

I love Neudaiz's sceneries. They are colorful & screaming Oriental/Japanese style. Heh, 'Mt. Fuji' is there too. ;] But, Moatoob is quite the opposite - desert, dry, rocky & cavernous.

Nice work LJ.

Oh my good lord jeebus. I pee'd myself a lil looking at these screenshots. BEE-YUU-TEE-FUL!

Edit: Althought these are probably PC screenshots and the PS2 version would probably be a lil uglier than this...Ohwellz.

Very nice, and like Ryna said, Moatoob also gives me that Episode 4 feeling.
The painful wait... >_<

Side note: Bravestar, now there's something I haven't seen or heard about in a long long time.

I'm really hoping that these screenshots are as good as they look. I actually do recall getting the impression that PSO would be much more spread out then it turned out to really be.

Either way, it looks like we're in for some really nice scenery. The screenshots look beautiful.

Sorry I'm so late. I lost track of time when I went to the gym after work, so I got a little bit of a late start on my translations. Anyway, I've finished translating the new info for Neudaiz. I'm working on Moatoob's info now.

Ohtoku City

This is the capital of Neudaiz. The tremendous Mt. Ohtoku which floats in the center of the city is where the Communion of Graal's headquarters is located. This mountain is also a very popular tourist attraction. Known as the city of scholars, Ohtoku City is filled with various businesses, college research facilities, and other educational facilities.

Mizuraki Preserve

This is one of the forest zones of Neudaiz. The administration designated Mizuraki and the flora within as a protected area.

And now for the other two sections...

Daguora City

Daguora is a town where many hoodlums have settled. As a result of this, the overall tone and attitude of the populous is fairly wild and aggressive. Within the city, you'll find a number of places such as pubs where Rogues tend to congregate, as well as the weapons manufacturer Tenora Works, part of the Angra Group which produces high-end products.

Gallenigalé Canyon

This is an abandoned mining area. At one time Gallenigalé was being mined for a very unique type of mineral which it was abundant in, however the area is now nothing more than an abandoned mine with many tunnels and shafts running throughout it.

Thanks for the translations EspioKaos.

I think Alisha will be disappointed with this update.

No problem. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Oh, and I think you're probably right. XD

EDIT: I just saw the update on the front page, Ryna, and it looks like you accidentally put the description for Mizuraki Preserve in place of the one for Gallenigalé Canyon.

I just saw the update on the front page. Hopefully we'll end up getting to play PSU sooner then we think. Each update makes me a little more impatient then the last one... anyhow, thanks again for the translations, EspioKaos.

With an unspecified release date, you should expect that the material released in the weekly updates won't be quite as exciting. We should probably feel lucky that any updates are being released at all. Keep in mind that background information and screenshots are "cheap" to release.

The pictures I'm waiting for are high resolution pictures from in game. By high resolution I don't mean 1024x768, I mean preferably 1280x960 or 1280x1024 at least. It would be easier to see just how much detail is in the game rather than these dinky little screens. Still, any news is welcome.

I totally agree. I'd like to start seeing some high res screens of the game as well. The locations are shaping up nicely and it would be great to have a look at them in a higher resolution.

There's one tiny correction I need to make. It's just with the spelling of the city on Moatoob where the Guardians base is located. According to this picture (http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/worldofpsu/detail/dc01.jpg), it should be Dagora City, not Daguora like I originally thought. I know it's difficult to make out, but above the large entryway way in front of where Ethan is standing, you can see some white text which seems to have been distorted by heat waves or something. After comparing them with the notes I've taken on the Moatoob lettering from other screenshots and pieces of artwork -- I know, I'm such a nerd -- I was easily able to make out five of the six letters: D A -- O R A. Still, I wonder why SonicTeam decided to pronounce the name of the city the way they do in Japanese by adding an extra syllable when the English spelling has no trace of that extra syllable in its spelling. (For reference, the Japanese pronunciation is four syllables long -- da gu o ra -- while the English spelling implies three -- da go ra. Oh, well.)

Thanks for the update EspioKaos. I updated the news story on the front page to reflect the new spelling.

It would probably be interesting to put together a guide for the new alphabet systems.

I agree. this game so big though it takes mounths just to make sure that things are steady. But you know they will make a patch system. So what's taking them so long?

I've actually got a little guide written out on paper for the Parum and Moatoob fonts along with a small start for Neudaiz's font. I've also got Parum's font drawn out on my computer. (I was planning on using it for my website logo, but everyone who saw it said it was too difficult to read. XD They're right, though; it can be pretty difficult to read at first. I guess I've just gotten used to it.) I could always work some more on that so we can get a guide started up.
