Anyone would like to guess what the influence is? (I hope it is somewhat obvious. But if not, that is fine too. Mwahahaz... ")

It isn't a 100% style mimicing, but rather taking in the element that I like and integrate it into my way of drawing. I am rather pleased with the result.

I think that this picture is awesome.

I can't quite pinpoint the style. It's wonderful though. =O

You succeeded in making the FOmar look girly, confusing Melanie in the process. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Nice work.

Guesses on the style? None, I wouldn't know what style is from where. >_>

Honestly though. I don't know how you'd not make a long hair FOmar girly. Not like you even get to see his face much. If it was a FOmarl tho, she'd had the dress thingy in the waist so the robe wouldn't flow much at all? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

He looks awesome nonetheless, especially the look on his face. Looks pretty damn intimidating.

in my defense, it was late, I was tired, and I was looking at the picture from a bad angle and was just like "omg pretty". I never even thought about it.

Sorry. :/ I screwed up.

I believe I was initially confused because the pose and hair reminds me a lot of a picture of Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile. That must be what first put OMG WOMAN into my head, as normally I'm really great at spotting bishounen. ._.

I'm none too familiar with the artwork of the metal gear solid series, but it certainly looks that way. Mainly for the black.

Very seski, especially his pole arm. ;>

One day, I'll be able to fathom just how skilled Navi is.

Until then, I can oogle her art and drool with a blank stare on my face.

Anyone who has a hard time telling FOmarls and FOmars apart should go and draw both of them a couple times. They are really quite different when you look at all their details... One of the biggest giveaways that this is a FOmar would be the absence of the extra hip hugger dress thing. Also, the general shape of the robes and the pattern on his back.
Anyway, I may not be able to tell the technique off hand, but it does look familiar. I love the heavy use of black. cool cool http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
May I ask what the medium is? And if its digital... Then... may I ask how you got those black lines?

Either way, Bravo. =)

Hohoho, me like this very muchly, navci. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Graceful yet bold at the same time. Kinda reminds me of sumi-e, though I don't know entirely why.

OMG FOMAR! *spazz*

*latches on*

It's a very nice piece, Navci. ^_^ Probably my favourite of yours in a long time. I love the movement it has, and the high contrast.

Of course, it being of a FOmar helps, too. >.>

To go on the video game theme that Sagasu started, it also reminds me of Metal Gear Solid, as well as a bit of Okami.

Wait, now I remember.

It reminds me of AWESOME.

Oh my god, I love this new style, navi! The bold, dark lines and the minimal color pallete creates such a stunning image. I really, really like this.

I seriously hope you do more in this style. <3

Obviously you can't. Way to take my attempt comical mediating into another potential drama.

Alright, folks.
If you need a mod to get the idea, here you go.
Enough with the FOmar/FOmarl discussion.
Consider yourselves warned. Talk about the art, not the comments.

Did doing R'aan in this new style take more time than your usual style, or did it take less time?

Well. It took me a while to experiement on what to do and what not to do. Like, does it look good this way? or that way? So that part took a long time. But as for style wish in drawing, I am actually not the kind that draw small details very well. I mean I will and I can do it, as I have done before. But I much rather prefer do an idea and like eccentuate some details over others; get a general flow going rather than showing you photo-realistic zipper marks. So ultimately I think I'd enjoy doing this more.

AND! The inspiration to that was MGS. I really liked the highly stylized artwork they did. While I was doing it though, I realize I also integrated a bit of the Samurai Spirits ink brush strokes into it. It is a very sumi-e style, like brush painting. But since I am digitaling it, I took full advantage of my media and used irregular eraser strokes. :>

Oh ya. Took me a while to put the brush together too. That was a lot of trial and error.

Woa, where did you get that idea from? I didn't mean to insult you, you know. Just tring to keep you from getting into troble, unless you like to slap others around (which is really useless). I come in peace!

I half-expected an army to march behind him with a pose like that. He has that Big-Chief-Asswhupper look, as I like to call it. *grin* Nicely done.
