I love firearms. So much, I collect them and it is a fun hobby. I found out surplus is the way to go. Surplus rifles and ammo are cheap cheap cheap, rifles can be as low as 50 dollars and ammo is cheaper.

Anyway I like the whole responsibility and whatnot, also the history and how I also believe we do need firearms.

I also need a camera to show what I have, but a list will do for now.

Hungarian Mosin Nagant M44('53)
Yugoslavian M48 Mauser(??)
Yugoslavian M59/66 SKS('78)
British Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.1('42)
Australian Lee Enfield No.1 Mk3('43)
Russian Mosin Nagant 91/30('40)
On the way is a Polish Mauser Kbk wz. 1898 Carbine, found for 200 it is worth quite a bit more

For pistols:

Bulgarian Makarov
Czech CZ-52
...and intend to get another this summer, probably a CZ-75 type.

3 random .22s also. Marlin 60, Cooey Model 60, and Savage Mark2.

Share people, share.

Just wanted to added some Online gun stores and such for information on prices. Hope to entice you people to buy some. I think alot of you will be amazed at how cheap this stuff is.

Well, I personally don't own any guns, but my dad does, and he shares. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Some of the guns we own:
AR-15
Ithica pistol grip shotgun
M1 Garand
45 Special (snub-nosed revolver)
.357 magnum revolver. My late grandfather's favorite handgun, and it's far more awesome now that we put a improved rubber grip on it.
Traditional hunting shotgun (y'know, full stock and all)
Couple random .22 rimshot rifles

We see a gun specialist periodically, and he lets us try out his Glock (model 17), and we're planning on getting one of them. It is a nice handgun!

I dont have any firearms myself, but it sounds interesting that you collect them. Do you actually use them or are they just for decoration? Do you take them down to a gun club shooting range or anything like that?

No I shoot them all, don't buy anything I can't. Since I live in a hilly, coal mine strewn region there are plenty of 'improvised' ranges in the hills. Perfectly safe and away from buildings. Many people go to them, most people are nice too. An armed society is a polite society. It is real fun shooting bowling pins, TVs and such at 100-200 yards with my old cheap rifles. Even better when a guy next to you with his 1000 dollar AR-15 can't hit a thing.

You like guns, I like knives. I love knives, I actually lost one not long ago (1-2 months ago). It was my favorite knife, a black and silver butterfly knife. I used to walk around my house flipping it in and out just for fun and would do that when I was sitting at my computer desk during nights as well. Throwing knives have also caught my eye.

We have a few here that my grandfather had the option to either sell or give to us when he moved. He gave them to us. I'm not quite sure what all we have but I do know some are rather old, one in particular was a muzzle loader from the 1850s used during the Civil War. I really would have liked it had they been in operating order, unfortunately they were so long unused they have become dangerous to fire. Maybe in the future we'll pick up a rifle or two so we can go hunting or out to the numerous firing ranges in this area. Much like Dangerous55 I live in a rather rural area with numerous firing ranges and most houses around here have at least a rifle or two and a shotgun.

My soon-to-be father-in-law collects rifles and handguns and has quite a few (some of them very old and very expensive.) I've never counted them but he has 4 large 6 foot tall gunsafes full of them. I think I remember him saying they were valued at over $135,000. The only gun I've ever owned was some Saturday night special that I got from a pawnshop for next to nothing that exploded in my hand the first time I fired it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I officially hate violence, and anything that represents it.

Unofficially, I would love to have a mosin. Mmmm. Guns can be sexy.

Now that I think about it, I'm probably a bit too impulsive to own a gun.

You're joking right? I don't want to get in an argument but a gun is an inanimate object. It doesn't do anything unless you will it to.

Buy a Mosin, guarntee you will fall in love with it. Just figure that you as a responsible person can take a gun off the market. Right? Sure.

We used to have 2 AK-47's in the house back in my home country. But living in Canada I can't own any guns.

I agree guns are inanimate objects and peaceful people can have a love for guns just like they can have a love for cars.

I was kidding. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I nearly drool when looking through gun issues in gaming (hunting, not computer) magazines.
