PSO Screenshot Thread - April 2006

Welcome to the April 2006 version of the PSO Screenshot Thread. You can find last month's thread here (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=109106&forum=1&262). All PSO screenshots, Episode 1&2 and Blue Burst, should be posted here.

Remember to be mindful of the screenshots you post and remember that this is a family-oriented site.

Also, it is highly recommended that you keep your screenshots under 700 pixels wide. Anything larger than that will cause most forum members to have to scroll horizontally. If you want to post images larger than that, link to them using the url tags and provide a brief description of the screenshot.

If you have a large number of screenshots, link to them using the url tags and provide a brief description.

It is also recommended that you convert your images to JPG to keep the file sizes smaller. If you do not have the ability to resize or convert, try using this program: http://www.xnview.com/

Posts that are not directly related to a picture or a question about a picture will be considered off-topic and dealt with according to the forum rules.

If you need image hosting, you can use Getintothegame's server. As long as you use it for PSOW images only, you may use it. The tool is located here (http://www.getintothegame.net/upload). Also, you may use it to submit pictures to the Item Database and Fan Works.

VR Temple has some really awesome photo ops. This was a fun game, too. Two FOmars, a FOnewm, and a HUcaseal did a bit of Egg Rappy hunting. We didn't find one, sadly. But, I did get to trade for some Resta Merges, and also...

Bringer's Right Arm! After I transformed it (it took me a while to find which character had Dr. Osto's Research available), I promptly took it over to VR Spaceship to try it out a bit. Finally, I have a Rifle on my FOmar. This will hold me over nicely until I get enough MST to use that Holy Ray.

Thursday night, after I start seeing people getting a bunch of junk, I decide to just hop on and check if I can access my account. Since it was supposed to be deactivated, I was a little surprised I was able to play. I hopped into VH Desert, and one of the first Sand Rappies:

Two other people reported having my problem too on the Tycho's excavation reports forums. I even sent a support forms about it but the tech support was, of course, clueless on what happened.

I suggested getting Plus quality snaps of SRank Cards for the database. Unfortunately, these snaps are less, "Item database," as they are, "Kickass." Such is the way of the ninja.

I had an urge to play some Ep3, and I've been messing around with it off and on today. I messed with some Team Dark Tech decks, using two controllers in 2v2 matches.

This battle was on Molae Venti, versus Combo/Combo, Nyah!

I attempted to try out Peko, see if he was of any use. My secondary character hasn't unlocked any additional Story Characters, so I was stuck with Break as a partner. I realized, once again, that Break's stats made Peko's ability almost worthless.

Since my primary character has more cards, I was able to try out different strategies. As you can see, I was going to see if I could utilize Bringer+ with techniques, but I jumped the gun too early and set it in a position that ended up making it useless the entire match.

Luckily, both rolled a 5 for ATK, so the Sorcerer came out as well.

Speaking of Chaos Sorcerer, it is NOT an overrated card. Rather powerfull, and difficult to take down.

I have an appreciation for Dark Tech decks, but I also have an affinity for Tech decks in general since my first arkz deck was of that archetype. Granted, I didn't get a great rank, and Peko/Bringer+ didn't perform much at all, I was still pleased in how well the decks worked out.

Starting up Story Mode, I somewhat expected it to be rather boring. But I found it to be quite the contrary. I almost forgot exactly how fun this game can be if you really put your mind to it. Setting up decks and strategies and attempting to follow through while keeping a flexable gameplan is quite fun for me, and I enjoy every second of gameplay. The only problem is that the sounds, music, and visuals eventually start to overload my senses and I get a little headache after playing an extended amount of time.

For a while now, I've had the theory that Unguis Lapis and the Subterannean Desert are part of the same location. There are a few details that lead me to believe this. The bulbous plants were the first thing that I noticed, and the pillars of light just added to the entire effect. After some thinking, I also realized that both areas have fossils (vague idea, I know). The final detail was in the description of Unguis Lapis, being that the area is situated near "a giant fossilized creature". Yeah, "fossilized", but who's to say Saint-Million doesn't instantly turn into stone after you kill it?

One of the missions forced me to partner up with a COM controlled Endu, so I had to use a different deck. I choose to use the Dark Tech deck from the 2v2, since it was my only team-setup deck I had. Going into it, I was expecting slight frustration with the COM (it doesn't really bother me, the AI is just stupid), but it ended up being a pretty smooth win. Ednu's actions actually supported my own in many attacks, and we came out with a decent rank. None of the images were good, though, so I don't have anything but this of it.

Why this game wasn't more popular, I'll never know. There isn't anything wrong with the game, whatsoever. I guess people were expecting it to be a replacement like Blue Burst, or an addition like EPisode 4, but that shouldn't have turned people away from it.

Using these two characters, I tested out a deck idea that I've had fumbling about in my head since way back. The idea is to use the two nests, Monest and Mothvist, to create a barrier that two Arkz could pelt away from behind. Previously, the strategy only showed up in joke decks, using things such as Permission to give them the ability to throw Foie, or Heavy Fog, allowing them to attack (which looks very hilarious).

Aside from the creatures, what gives the strategy power is the assists and characters. Ohgun and KC work very well for this, and Support/Brave Wind suprised me at how well they boosted the offensive power. I changed my BB resolution to the biggest it could go, and set it on high graphics settings, and started it up. It took a minute for it to actually start (I was about to start BB again, cause I thought it didn't work), and then it worked and I was like, "Holy crap!"

So uh, what was the difference? Silver looked awesome. That was... pretty much the only difference, minus the huge lag.

Anyway lol I decided to remake a HUcaseal on PSOGC. I knew I was going to name it Callisto (As in NTG, Perfect Dark), but I didn't know what she'd look like. So, I went into the random character generator, and these came out (except the first, I just wanted to see how pointy a HUcaseal could get).

Anyways, I happened to notice two things to day

1. Eternal Confusion
2. Lying HUD
3. Dumbash.

Eternal Confusion just is the fact that Dark Gunners' confusion status is never reset. Probably due to the fact they go invulnerable, none the less, I laff'd as it cleared a room for me.

And on From the Depths [actually, so was hte last one] the HUD lies in a room. I looked at the HUD. Door in front of me!

I look in front of me. Wall. LIES!

When paralyzed, not ONLY will he not heal himself. He also runs blindly into enemies only to stand there because he can't attack. And my being a droid makes this even more inconvenient because I can't heal the moron.
EDIT: For an update on my From the depths issues, Ash is now at...well I can't see his HP bar anymore. And just staring at me all paralyzed.

EDIT2: He died. "I'm ready for them!" The Chaos bringer disagreed and smacked him in the head...

EDIT3: On my second attempt, he somehow got poisoned. And once again, refuses to heal himself.
