Hmmm...RPGs.
If I were you I'd just download some homebrew and be done with it. But if you wanna buy some games I've heard good things about Kingdom of Paradise and Popolocrois. Might wanan try X-Men Legends II as well.

If you don't know what you're doing it can.
http://www.psp-hacks.com
Trusthworthy site, gives you toturials and all sorts of help on how to install, run, and even create your own homebrew.
If you have 2.6 and GTA I'd also recommend going to http://www.fanjita.org
See normally you wouldn't be able to run homebrew on firmware 2.6 but this dhude fanjita create a program inwhich you can trick your PSP into running homebrew by booting up a hacked GTA save game. Awesome stuff. If you need anyhelp on what you're doing you can PM me. I use homebrew all the time.

I would still be a bit weary of homebrew gaming, especially since it stops you from buying any new titles until the next 'Crack' is out. You may as well just do the whole Emulation thing on your PC.

Tales of Eternia is a fantastic RPG on the PSP. Ive been playing it for some time and im really enjoying it. Combats quite fun, music is great and the sprites are nice as well.

Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast may not be an RPG, but its a game i recomend whole heartedly for the PSP. Its really should look as good as it does, and it plays like joy to boot.

And sadly the only other two games I own on the PSP are imported Beat Em ups. But if you can find Bleach Heat the Soul 1 or 2 cheap, they are good for a few hours destraction. Juts dont pay to much for them, as they can be easily completed in a few hours and unlocking all the cards is very tedious.

Well Zelutos, you can download SNES emulators, Genises Emulators, and there is a GBA emulator but it isn't perfect. Theres also totally original games for download. Homebrew doesn't just apply to games though, theres all sorts of homebrew applications. Depending on what psp firmware you have installed you'll be able to do different sorts of things. If you have 2.6 you're pretty limited in what you can do, you'll still be able to play the emulators (which is the main reason why I use homebrew) but most of the other apps don't work for 2.6. There are a lot of very shifty, sneaky sites out there that put out homebrew that could wreck your PSP so just go to those two sites I mentioned, very trustworthy. Its not really all that complex. Like I said, if you need any help PM me, I could give you a couple-o-pointers.

I think it's an interesting point, that the majority of people suggest playing emulated SNES (or other system) games on the PSP, as opposed to its own actual software.

Really a testament to the PSP's library of games.

Uhh...that thing..about not being able to buy games until a new "crack" comes out..er...well that scares me!

...And Tales of Eternia is out already? On the Playstation Underground, it said something like it's still TBA...er...maybe i'm just going crazy??? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Its not that you won't be able to buy new games until the next crack comes out.
Its just that some games require a higher firmware version than what you have.
Like If you had 1.5 you wouldn't be able to play GTA cause it requires 2.0.
2.6 is the highest firmware version out that (that I know of) so if you have 2.6 and GTA you will be able to buy new games to play and still use your homebrew.
Zelutos, do your homework and read up on homebrew, don't let what other people say sway you. PSP homebrew really is cool stuff.

Its out in the UK and is the reason I bought a PSP. We kept playing a trailer for it at my workplace and I buckled. I dont know about the Americain version, which is a shame.

Is Breath of Fire 3 out in the US yet or is that another one thats lagging behind?

When I say a new crack, I meant that when you buy the newest games, they tend to have the latest firmware downloads on them. You cant play the new game until you install that firmware. So if had Homebrew on your PSP and you wanted to get the latest title you would have to choose between which you wanted more. Waiting for the new crack refered to the Homebrew stuff, because as soon as the firmware has been cracked its back to playing emulated Monkey Island.

Well i read the warnings on the first site you gave me for PSP wallpapers...and i really don't want to void the warrenty/break my PSP http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

But i'll still consider it as an option until more games come out http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Ooh, Shin Budokai. How does it play? Ive liked the previous Budokai's on the PS2 and have been really tempted by the PSP version (Just waiitng for the UK release, it missed last week).

I like the fact that its based off one of the better DBZ movies.
