If you selected to participate in the Beta, you will receive an email from an address at sega-pc.jp. The email will contain a User ID and password (Do not lose this!). After that, you will visit http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/beta/trial/download.html to download the "Downloader" program (300 KB). The Downloader program will prompt you for your User ID and password. If the information is correct, it will begin downloading the setup.exe program (555 MB). Once it is done, run the setup file. It'll take a few minutes to install. The current install takes up about 622 MB.
The initial menus for the game should be familiar to anyone that played Blue Burst. The first menu allows you to start the game, visit the website, customize several options, and Exit. My computer is currently unable to display the Japanese for the Windows Option Menu, but it looks very similar to the Blue Burst one.
If you start the game, you'll be brought to the PSU title screen. There are three options. The last one exits the game. I'm not quite sure what the other two do yet.
NOTE: When I first tried the game, I got a "could not start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found" error. I had to install an older DX9 runtime in order to get that file. However, things are working now.
Beyond that, the only other problem is that the Japanese is not displaying right on traditional window screens (setup, options, etc...). It is showing up fine in-game though.
