Worth it or wait

I've been a huge fan of PSO for a long time now. I've been playing the offline version for GC even after I stop paying to play online. I was wondering if it is worth paying $9 a month to play PSO:BB for the next few months until PSU comes out, or should I just stick with PSOGC offline sicne there are supposedly only 500 people online.
