PSU Screenshot and Movie Thread

Welcome to the first Phantasy Star Universe screenshot/movie thread. All PSU screenshots and movies should be posted here (if you feel compelled to share them).

It is highly recommended that you keep your screenshots under 700 pixels wide. Anything larger than that will cause most forum members to have to scroll horizontally. If you want to post images larger than that, link to them using the url tags and provide a brief description of the screenshot.

If you have a large number of screenshots, link to them using the url tags.

It is also recommended that you convert your images to JPG to keep the file sizes smaller. If you do not have the ability to resize or convert, try using this program: http://www.xnview.com/

If you need image hosting, you can use Getintothegame's server. As long as you use it for PSOW images only, you may use it. The tool is located here (http://www.getintothegame.net/upload).

To take a screenshot, press the Print Screen button. A bitmap will then be saved in your C:Program FilesSegaPHANTASY STAR UNIVERSE BETASCREENSHOT folder. The size and resolution of the screenshot will vary depending on the resolution you set in the Options screen.

I can only understand a very little Japanese, so I had no idea what area I was in.

The controls are much smoother than PSO's. You run a lot faster and you can attack while running.
Also, alt+key will make you do some animations, like PSO.
Character customization is totally awesome, I didn't look at it for too long (or otherwise the servers would be closed before I could play). But it seems you have quite a lot of options

I'll try to get the pics a little bit bigger now.

The two enemies shown in these videos are Delseban, the Dimenian-esque creatures, and Panon, the short things. Is it just me or are the Panon's sound effects really cute? XD

Oh, for those Japanese fluent, there's also a 'User's Voice (http://phantasystaruniverse.com/usersvoice.html)' form ready for quick feedback and strong opinions. I believe it is for participants only, so "vultures", no spamming it with 'LET ME IN!!!1111one'!

Can't read everything the form says, but I think it goes somewhere a long the lines of 'there won't be an answer for your opinions' and 'you are obligated to participate as part of your agreement with the Beta'.

The form asks for your username I think, your age and gender, then text box for comments (up to 400 characters).

Sega'll probably spank me for this, but hey... I consider this free advertising for them. When people see how awesome the game is, that'll yield more sales. May as well hype the game up now, I say. And to those afraid of the NDA, we already violated it when we signed up, not to mention some of us have been speaking English in the open amidst Japanese players who could report us on the Beta BBS in a second. I don't think anyone really minds.

on rapid share you click FREE, and then wait for the timer to hit zero. Then it will ask you to type in the code shown in the image, and then your download appears.

I downloaded the 50MB one through rapidshare, and that was my limit or something, I can't download anymore form there for 70 mins.

So yeah, just use the second set of links.

I also took the first video of 3 different kinds of magic & leveling up a mag since I was asked, it lags a little bit since I took it on 800x600 but they're still awsome. I learned that if you change your rank then it will cost 50+ more everytime you do it, so it could end up costing alot if you keep changing- it starts at 400 for the first change. Next time the beta is up, I'll try and buy the rest of the magic and record it.

And two new videos, they show off a some more magic and party play. They have a better framerate then the last one's and at the same resolution, I didn't use all the techs I had though. I found out something somewhat disappointing, you can't level up the skills on melee weapons as a force class, you can however skill level up guns.

Screenshots from me, on the force class setting I can level up my spear melee I believe, I was under force class and used spear for the whole mission and points went into my force class..also when I select force setting spear is highlighted. I need a video capture program that will allow me to record for more than 30 seconds though, anyone have any ideas?

I had to restart my pc earlier in the day, and when you restart a pc on windows xp it resets the what to record option. Well I took a little bit longer video then usual, and I ran into some trouble with it. It has to do with covering up my name which caused some problems do to the size, and encoding the new name covered video. I did get it worked out though, but I didn't want to restart again to increase the pc's page file size and get the normal high quality. So I just left it decent, but it has a very good framerate and sound this time around. You will need DivX to run these videos, I finally got around to encoding it in avi. I would also like to say that this will probably be one of my last posts, I hit my level limit at 30 but its been fun- unless sega adds more stuff and raises the cap then this could be my last. I also can't get my PM to follow me around, if anyone figures that out then do send a message my way. Also an update on how the class changing works, it depends on how high all of your classes total up to. When I had 8 levels in my classes total, it would cost 825 to switch to another class.

First, you choose the Partner Machine menu.

Then the item synthesis menu.

"Board Entry" allows you to give your Partner Machine a recipe.

Then you choose the option under Board Entry (no pic, sorry).

In that menu, you choose which recipe you would like to synthesize. In this pic I am about to choose my Sniper recipe. It lists what items are required (all of which I have).

edit: To give your PMachine the items your recipe requires, choose the very first menu when you talk to him, then the very first option, and choose the items to give him.

The ??? means I need to choose an item of that type. This is how you can create custom weaponry with synth. What type of ??? item you choose will affect your final result.

In this next menu you confirm each item on the recipe list. This is also how you choose which ??? item to use.

Now you choose the third option on the synth menu to take your item out.

In this picture my sniper is not ready to be taken out yet. Items take an amount of time to synthesize. In this picture, my Partner Machine needs 14 more minutes to finish making the Sniper. After that time is up you can take it out and presto!

I won't skimp on the last few videos, I've been asked before to take boss and other videos. So I took a few decent length videos that shows normal fighting and then getting to the boss and taking that boss down, aswell as the afterway point and ranking up the mission total. And like these new screenshots, no names or anything else are getting covered up on these videos like they used to be before. They're of course taken on 800x600, and the game set to normal quality- just like almost all of the screenshots have been.

anyone thats known me knows this is classic alisha style

all my humanoid pso chars had dark skin and my hune had green eyes. the only way it could be more complete is if the final game lets you change lip colors. then i could make them purple. then she would be like a fusion of my fomarl/ramarl/hunewearl
