I'm going to have to go with Warriors for my favorite song, by Freedom Call.
But my overall favorite metal band would have to be Sonata Arctica.

I'm not underground enough to list Metal bands. >_>

SLipKnOt- Surfacing, Wait and Bleed, or Pulse of the Maggots.

NightWish- Dark Chest of Wonders (me gusta la intro)

Rob Zombie- Superbeast, The man without fear

Rammstein- Feuer Frei

Those are some of my faves. I'd suggest you checked them out particularly if you haven't already...

This is the kinda stuff you'd kill to get to know. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Mastodon is one of the only good metal bands left.

I would probably say System of a Down, if they count.

Perhaps Pantera. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Speed-Metal's high on my list at the minute, been listening to a lot of Stratovarius.

I think one of my favourite songs at the moment though would be Black Fire by Dragonforce.

The closest to metal I actively listen to is 10 Years, Breaking Benjamin, Trapt, and Evans Blue. :3

Hmmm.

As for favorite, I'd say I'm stuck between Wasteland from 10 years, or Follow by Breaking Benjamin.

Iron Maiden hands down with Rime of the Ancient Mariner as my favorite of theirs.

Painkiller is my favorite Priest track.

Dante's Inferno by Iced Earth is 16 minutes of amazing.

Lake Bodom and Warheart from good ole Children of Bodom= m/(><)m/ (although a lot of their recent stuff sucks)

Dream Theater, Dark Tranquillity, Blind Guardian, Opeth, Nile, Metallica (old), Megadeth, DragonForce, Danzig, Dimmu Borgir, Helloween, Slayer, Dio, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Emperor, Darkthrone, Immortal, Liquid Tension Experiment, Mastodon, and oh so many more....that's good metal.

Metal I don't like:

Slipknot
Mudvayne
SOAD
All those crappy metalcore bands

I'm not trying to attack anyone's opinion...it's just that mainstream "metal" is just...baaaaad....

Machinae Supremacy. They're great, especially if you like video games.

Lol. Gonna have to go with Mudvayne again. And don't compare them to Slipknot, they may be in the same genre, but Mudvayne is by far more talented and creative than Slipknot ever has/will be.

Favorite metal songs - Internal Primates Forever/Nothing to Gein, both from Mudvayne's L.D. 50.

Dreamtheater is great, but they just ooze pretension.

I would highly recommend Freedom Call and Sonata Arctica if anyone has not heard any of their stuff. Warriors or Tears Falling from Freedom Call and Kingdom for a Heart and San Sebastian from Sonata Arctica

I actually downloaded it to see what it was about. It actually reminded me of Queen...which wasn't a metal band...but I could see how they may be considered metal.

At first I thought it was like an opera type thing, then the riff came in.

If thats your favorite song, seriously, download the song by Nightwish I mentioned. You'll L.O.V.E. it

I do have Wanderlust from them, since it's an affliction of the Kender in my favorite book series Dragon Lance, bless them Margret Weis and Traci Hickman. I'll check it out next time I'm on Limewire

The Sword is the best metal band I've heard in a very long time. The vocals aren't that good, but the riffs are amazing.

Just like Dragonforce then http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif A change to my original post too, Dragonforce aren't my favourite band, just what I'd been listening to a lot recently.

Favourite band is Iron Maiden, without any doubt. Favourite song by them is Aces High. Legendary track.
