HI! new player here. i played PSO on GCN and i could offline without internet. but can i play PSO on Xbox without xobox live?

the only catch is you will need a gamertag; you can get the gamertag from a friend through a memory card or make a gamertag at a friends house that does have a broadband internet connection.

Does it require one for offline play aswell? I'm not in knowledge about the original Xbox Live.

yea, you need the gamertag for offline play too. odd requirement on part of microsoft but its easy to get a gamertag from anyone.

You can be a million miles from an internet connection and xbox pso asks/goes to your gamertag screen first and then you have to put in your pw.

This was because it was a launch title for XBoxlive in Japan. It came with the start up kit. So if you had it you had a gamertag.

What I don't get is, if he doesn't have an Internet connection in the first place, wouldn't the Xbox accept any password, or would it just refuse the details until the Xbox was connected to the Internet?

so basicly you just copy your friends gamertag and use it so you can play offline even if you dont have live?? im gonna try it tonight.if it works then ill get my own pso to play on xbox.
