Well this has proved to be very strange.

So far I have-
Removed any strange programs via control panel
Cleared out the Temp folder
Updated Adaware and scanned, deleted all threats, rebooted and ran it before startup, deleted remaining threats
Unchecked everything in MSconfig>Startup (command "C:WINDOWSOcalJuc.exe" always stays checked, I can't undo that for some reason)
Updated SpybotS&D and ran it. 3 Times in a row now the computer has frozen when it scans for Gator something (name escaped me). Before that, sadly, there were 2500+ entries for "ABetterInternet.Aurora"

Some problems I've been noticing:
Red "Your Computer is infected!" message spawning from Virus alert icon in the task bar
Internet homepage won't change from "about:blank", automatically goes to "www.guarduptodate.com"
Process "dcomcfg.exe" will not go away.

I'm using Windows XP, my browser is Internet Explorer.

Assistance would be appreciated http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

Edit: I aborted the scan before it reached the point where the computer freezes, and fixed 2922 entries of ABetterInternet.Aurora, 1 Adware.Webtext, 15 CAS-Client, 1 Deskwizz, 2 DyFuCa.SafeSerf, 5 Hotsearch Bar, 1 Pest Trap

Most likely it's SpyAxe. How To Remove SpyAxe (http://www.webroot.com/consumer/products/spysweeper/freescan.html)

Then run a few online scans:

SPYWARE SCANS:
Trend Micro Anti Spyware For the Web (http://www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan/)
WebRoot Spy Sweeper (http://www.webroot.com/consumer/products/spysweeper/freescan.html)

VIRUS SCANNERS:
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner (http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx)
Panda Active Scan (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm)
Trend Micro HouseCall (http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/)

You may also want to run: Hijack This (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html)

What type of AntiVirus software are you running? Also, be aware that many freeware programs will only scan your pc profile, leaving lots of nasty stuff in other profiles which means when they run their profile it can reinfect you.
