Yes, there is a picture, but first a little backstory! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I had to take a picture of this pencil sketch with a digital camera and upload it to Photoshop. The cleaning process was more difficult than I thought it would be, so the lines look funny. The coloring was an afterthought.

Overall, I am not sure of whether or not I like it...but it's practice. I will do more male studies, but depending on how well this does in Fan Works will decide how many I post. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Warning! For those of you who do not like mostly nekkid men (ie; manly bits are covered but nothing else) then just turn back, please. ;3

I used no references, but looking back... I probably should have.

I'd love some critique, but don't say anything about lines/coloring as what had happened to those was an extraordinary combination of adverse circumstances. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif Besides, it was an anatomy practice anyway.

Uh...and that's all. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

ogod all the wackos

ITS SO SHINEH >>

My only concern is his abs/chest. They seem rather longated with abs, and tiny with chest.

Otherwise not bad doodman http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

which is weird cause in the first study (which was not posted obviously) the problem was the reverse. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I am still finding the middle ground...but trust me, I'll find it. ;3

thanks ~

The neck looks waay too long, which causes the head to look a bit pasted on. That, and the crotch area is odd for some reason. Like his buttcheeks would be too small or something. I can't quite put me finger on it. Overall not too bad for, what, the second anatomy of a dude?

hmm, http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

While the male torso does tend to be often times large, its usually not the same length as his legs(they're small in general, in this pic). XD

But its mainly the abdomen that throws this off, because his "rectus abdominis" are getting larger and more pronounced ad they receed towards the groin. Which is oposite of what they normally do.

For example (http://www.metu.edu.tr/~guney/bb/images/abdominal-muscles.jpg)

For while the muscles themselves inrease in length, theres a lot of other buildup that makes the area just under the boobs more pronounced. I blame the color (for drawing more attention to it than it already had,) and the lack of reference~

He also seems to have no hips.

Tis good fo stylish work, tho. I demand more manly pictures! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Well I'm not too good at explaining things anatomically, so I just sketched up a rough of about how I lay out male figures, and layed it out side by side with yours and an actual reference pic. Don't think I'm saying my way is correct, but often times its good to see how others work on the same subject as you. I found in my figure class this year, that I think I learned just as much by studying what other people were doing around me as I did from drawing the actual models themselves.

And as far as anatomy goes, at least you seem to know where muscles should be on the body. You just need to learn how they move as a person does, and the only way to learn that is by carefull observation and lots of practice. So keep it up!

And YES I drew the dudes undies on. >__>

It looks good, mostly, but what the hell is up with his stomach? It looks like he's healing up some horrific injury or something. @_@

That was what I thought, either that or some horrible mutation. "OH MY GOD! You had three umbilical cords?!"

for your first male study Fo, I'd have to say it's not that bad. It's good that you're trying out something new. Keep plugging away. I hope to see more. I may even ask a request http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

@ Ancient: XD haha, happy face.
