I don't see how they could pull this off successfully...just hope they get a decent director I guess.

I really don't know what to say about this... Maybe if I hadn't just quit the game, resulting in rebound spite towards it, I might be excited...

Hmm... Why not just call it Warcraft? Must it be "World of-"?

meh...

I can't imagine this beating Lord of the Rings, but let's see if it turns out to be like most other movies based on a license.

Only way I see this working is if it is the CG from the cinematics in WoW. Also the Story has to be about The first war, the second war, or the story about Thrall. Those are the only stories I can see making it to the big screen.

I play WoW, a WoW movie might be cool, but I have one question, how do you know so much about the side story crap, Shattered_weasel? I play everyday, I don't know what the hell the first or second wars are or any story about Thrall. I think the story should be about Uther, they could easily make a movie about Uther, just make up a story about how he rose to be the first paladin and his battles on the way or something.

The first war is Warcraft 1. The war where the orcs won.

The second war is Wacraft 2. The war where humans won.

The story about Thrall whom is the leader of the orcs. His back story is awesome. I honestly loved the book with all my hugs and kisses. The story is about how his parents were killed and he was taken in by humans who put him into fights against other orcs right away.

Also it seems that this http://www.wowwiki.com/Eredar is the new Alliance race.

The title suggests that it won't be about the 1st or 2nd war:

I somehow doubt it would strictly cater to the alliance...

First of all, the new alliance race is Eredar? That is stupid if so, blood elves should be the alliance race, they can have Eredar. Eredar looks evil anyhow, they are warlocks? So should I just quit my warlock until the expansion seeing as how Eredar excel or are only warlocks? Also. no way in hell would the movie be about only alliance, the alliance wouldn't be alliance without the horde. Without one you cannot have the other, it's like war and peace, you cannot have war without first having peace. The alliance wouldn't be called the alliance if they weren't at war with the horde. They would just be called humans or night elves or dwarves or gnomes. No doubt the movie will be about the horde and alliance, it'll probably end as alliance the victors, seeing as how light always overcomes the darkness, almost always atleast.

Hmm, movies based on games don't do very well as a general rule. Forgetting the horrible attempts in the 90's (Mortal Kombat and the Mario Bros. movie *shivers and gets a little quesey* to name a few), There is Resident Evil (1 and 2) The Final Fantasy Spirits Within and the latest was Doom.

Doom was ok, but I was expecting more. Doom did all right I believe, but it didn't pull in the numbers that was expected. I am sure there is more movies that came out, I just don't remember them.

However, considering the throngs of hardcore fans for WoW ans Halo, if these movies don't live up to expectations, they will die a fast death in theaters (much like Gigli YUK).
