if one player hits an enemy first, can you get the special item that they get even though you killed it?
Because in the forest in ultimate, i hit a gulgus-gue first and my friend killed it but my item came out. i wasnt even attacking because i was letting him have exp.

if your playng offline, its player 1's ID, i think, and if your online, then its whoever created the online game that you joined from the lobby

Offline Multiplayer: Whoever is Player 1, the game uses that player's Section ID.

Online: Whoever originally made the game.

However, between GC/XBox and BB there is a difference. On GC/XB, if the original player left, the game would shift to the next player's ID. I think it only changed once everyone was back on Pioneer 2, but people used this to change the game's ID if a rare monster showed up. For example, changing a Skyly Temple game to a Viridia/Oran one if a Mil Lily shows up.

On BB, the ID is fixed by the game creator. Even if they then leave, the ID will remain the same. Again, this has been used to get other people to make you a game.

I think that's right, I never 100% understood the ID switching on GC/XB, but I believe that's how it works.

BeeYee, read my post again. I said that is for online, but also told you what happens offline.

And yes, for Red Mechs, your friend should ideally be player one.
