Because you find DB's saber which is a common replica of the weapon used in a secret a military squad, the swords are refined versions and they are the ones that work with the combo (DB's Sword, Shield, Armor). It's like for the Custom Burn combo, but the saber was made to add another saber type weapon I suppose. Also the swords are soo much rarer and soooooo much stronger.

The 9* replica Saber is the one that works with the set, the 10* swords don't. Also, not all 10* versions are stronger than the 9* (only the 3075 Yellowboze and 3064 Purplenum are similar or better in ATP for the DB's weapons when fully ground).
